Last minute christmas gift tags.

 

Well its December 23rd, and if you are anything like me, you've thought of gifts that you have forgotten about.. yup I do this every year!! By now, I've normally run out of gift tags.. So instead of running to the shops to get some more today, I pulled out a few of my VLVS stamps and made some very quick and easy little gift tags!  These are super easy and ohh so quick to make!

 

 

 I have used the following VLVS! Stamps:

 

Jingle Bells

Deer Looking

Holly Large

{With love}

 

 

 

I started off by staining some cardstock with some instant coffee, and cutting them to my desired  gift tag size.

 

I then randomly stamped the Jingle bells stamp onto my tags, I was still able to achieve a random print of my image as I  varied the pressure on my acrylic block.

 

 

Next came my focal images Deer Looking and Holly large , both have been stamped in Jet Black Archival ink.

 

A little bit of colour with my trusty distress markers next..

 

a little inking around the edge..

 of course some machine stitching, and one more little added touch..

 

 

And i'm all done, and have a little pile of gift tags ready to add to those present that I've forgotten!

Tis the season!

Since it's getting so close to Christmas I thought it only appropriate to make some Christmas inspired ATC's!  I made a trio of them, as I'm known to do, and they each make me smile.  Here is the first one using three different VLVS stamps!  I used the Cowgirl with tray, the Arched window and the Set of three ornaments to make this ATC

and here is a close up to show the red embossing I used for the ornaments

For the next ATC I used the Lady with wine stamp

 

and here is a close up

and last but not least this little gem using the fabulous Angry lady stamp

Don't you have the same problem or is it me. If its only me I sovled at least my own problem hahaha. When I die cut with my Vagabond I always cut some extra, you'll never know if you make a mistake, but always have some leftovers, putting them somewhere in my art room, my biggest problem is that I can;t find them anymore if I want to use them, so I stamped and gessoed on this smart handbag (a project from Club Scrap) and from now on I can put my die cuts in zipperbag and tuck them into the handbag. Works perfectly :o)

step by step:
step 1. take the project out of the packaging (maybe if you are very handy you can make one yourself) and lay flat on your worksurface. Take a stencil of The Crafters Workshop and sponge with gesso on a few places. Then stamp with different colours ink randomly on the cardboard. tamps that I used are: Harlequin diamond background 18920 , Color wheel lines 19338, Bulls eye target solid 19196,  Bulls eye target open 19193 , Waybill.Invoise bakcground 19416 and put the box together
step 2: stamp with Stazon black on a seperate piece of paper: Slide to unlock 19534 , NY License plate 19544 , Hello my name is tag 19540 and  Girl in princess costume 19536, cut out and colour with distress ink and a waterbrush.
step 3: glue the images onto the box. Fill it and its ready to use.

Today I will show my new vintage card, I love to do card in this style :)

For this card I took not so many embellishments: flower, chipboard, leavs, stamens and paper doily lace.

For doily lace I used VLVS! Medium Doily 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 and hot embossing:

I just love this Deer!

 

 

 

My tag base is coloured with Distress Ink and Perfect Pearls mist splattered randomly over the tag - I think it makes it look a little more wintery and festive,  and my images are coloured with Distress markers..

 

 

I have made a few of these tags.. I'm going to use as gift tags for some of my presents.. Why not give it a go, and stamp some gift tags of your own?

"I have created a fun little card to shine with Christmas spirit, without a single Christmas specific image! Today I am giving a shout out to Dr. Who…and thinking of how the TARDIS would look, sailing across a sky of Christmas stars, sending a Christmas greeting.

The background of my card was created by adding many colors of blue on my Gelli Plate, and then spreading with a brayer. When this was dry, giving splatters of white ink from 13 Arts, gave me a nice night sky to work with.

 

I painted the watercolored pine trees, fussy cut them out, and added them in layers. Each tree is topped with a star from the Stars 2 x 2 1/4, using gold ink from Imagine Crafts.

 

The Whimsical flying police box stamp is focus of this card, obviously. I decided to stamp it in several colors of blue, and then color with Sakura Gelly Roll pens, Faber Castell Design Memory Craft big brush pens, and fine line Sharpies; for pops of color. I wanted the TARDIS to be flying the Union Jack, so I stamped it using the Union jack silhouette, and added it and the Chevron banner stamp, using shimmering gold heavy embroidery thread….like they were being flown. The entire card was added in a layer to another white plain 4×6 card, which was watercolored to give a lighter background pop of color."

I can be a hermit....

Seriously, I am the kind of person who can entertain herself for hours and doesn't mind being alone! haha I did an art journal page paying homage to my "hermitism" and the neat thing about this page is that alot of the paint was leftover paint from cleaning my Gelli plate, and I love how the leftover paint created this background for this project.

 Here is the page with alot of left over paint from some other projects and then I stamped the grunge numbers onto the page

 and then I added the gorgeous lady swimsuit back (isn't she gorgeous???)

I also used the line of chevrons, star pin, set of wings, chevrons and the not all who wander are lost .

VLVS December Inspiration Challenge!

Hello and Happy Tuesday!  Tina here today with my interpretation of the December Challenge!  If you haven't seen the challenge yet, here's a peek at the amazing December inspiration piece!

I wasn't sure what type of project I wanted to create for my inspiration piece - a card, an art journal spread, a layout, or a assemblage type project.  So many options!

After much deliberation, I decided on an assemblage type project.  I used a an Amazing Alterable from Paper Whimsy as the base for my project and used the inspiration image color palette and design as a beginning point.

I was immediately drawn to the gorgeous Blues in the inspiration image, so I layered multiple shades of Shimmerz Paints to achieve the hue I was looking for.  I aged the edges with Distress Ink for a more vintage feel.

Using these 3 Snowflake stamps, I heat embossed the images all over by piece, with white embossing powder.

(BTW - these snowflakes are part of Plate 887, which is a great Christmas Plate, that includes the ornament shapes in the inspiration image.)

I LOVE how the embossed snowflakes turned out!

Once I was happy with the embossed piece, I added several vintage inspired embellishments to finish it off.

 

You can't see the detail in the pictures, but there is a subtle stripped image on my background.  Using a stencil, I inked the stripes before I embossed it.  You can see the striped effect in the above image, on the inside of my piece.
