PARTY ANIMAL by Fran

Hello eveyone!

Today  I have made a card for all you party animals out there, what with New Year on the horizon!

First of all I made a couple of masks out of the Twilight Zone Swirl stamp.

I then stamped the swirl in different colours, using the masks so I could overlap the stamps.

I stamped the dog on thick paper and coloured him in with pencils.

I had a wooden word "Party" in my stash, which I coloured with Posca Pen.

Using Idea-ology Label Letters, I made the word "Animal" on a piece of thick paper and then cut the whole thing out.

I added the "Sometimes I Like to Drink" thought stamp too

I put some chevron washi tape under the dog and stuck everything onto the card.  I then mounted it onto black card.

Stamps Used:

Other items used:
Versafine Clair Inks in Summertime, Verdant, Golden Meadow, Nocturn
Washi tape
Wooden words
Tim Holtz Idea-ology Label Letters
Polychromos pencils
Black card

And that's it! Hope you like the card.
Have a very Happy New Year!

Art Journal Page by Preeti D.

Hi friends :)
Hope you are doing well.
Preeti Datta (Dutt Preety) here from the VLVS! Design Team.
For today's post, I've created an Art Journal Page.
I've used some gorgeous VLVS! Rubber Stamps here.
I was inspired by Banksy Style graffiti art and tried to depict a grungy, old wall.

I've used a wall stencil here to create the background.

I've used 2 colours of distress oxides to create the old, worn out, grungy look.

VLVS! Supplies:

Other Supplies:

Maremismallart Stencil - Stoned Wall
Finnabair's Heavy White Gesso, Heavy Black Gesso
Ranger's Archival Inkpads- Jet Black and Potting Soil
Tim Holtz Distress Oxide Inkpads - Iced Spruce and Vintage Photo

Thanks a lot for your precious time :)
Stay Blessed!

Just Because by Leanne Jago

Hello everyone,
I hope your Easter or Break or just this time of year has been fantastic.
Today I am sharing a Banksy inspired piece using some of the freaking fantastic Banksy stamps. Yes I love everything Banksy; his art, his message, his secrecy and the visual simplicity of his statement pieces.
So with that in consideration I set out to create a pretty simple but fun and unique piece.

To be totally honest, it was a pretty simple make but it had quite a few layers and steps. AND worst of all waiting…….
And I did for a minute think of leaving it once I finished stitching the pieces together…

How about joining me and watching the whole thing unfold …

But instead I continued on and ended up with a piece that I absolutely love, that much that it is already hanging up on my loungeroom art gallery wall..
Here are a few more close ups.

Guest Inspiration Team : Preeti D.

Hi folks :)
Hope you are doing well.
Dutt Preety (Preeti D.) here from the Guest Inspiration Team.
I'm happy & excited to share my first project for Viva Las VegaStamps!
I've created a Grungy Art Journal Spread- "Art Is..." using some gorgeous VLVS! rubber stamps.

Process:
1. Applied Heavy white gesso to the pages to prepare them for mixed media work
2. Sprinkled on Lindy's Gang Magicals on the pages & spritzed them with water to get an organic looking background

3. To create interest & texture in the background, did background stamping using multiple VLVS! stamps & archival ink
4. Prepared a masterboard using alcohol inks & then stamped over top with some more VLVS! stamps to create texture, then cut it into strips & distressed the edges of the strips

5. Stamped the quote and focal image onto watercolour paper, lightly coloured it with Zig markers, fussy cut these & distressed their edges
6. Created the focal clusters on both pages by layering die cuts, stamped strips, images & twine. Adhered the elements using soft matte gel
7. Darkened the edges of the pages with black archival ink & created white splatter using watered down gesso.

VLVS! Supplies:

Other Supplies:
Lindy's Gang Magicals: Sassy Sapphire, Merry-Go-Round Green, Drop Dead Gorgeous Green, Ocean Breeze Blue & Bling-y Blonde
Kuretake: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers

Love. Repeat. By Guest Inspiration Team Member Elisa

Hi VLVStamp lovers/hoarders/aficionados,

Elisa here from the Guest Inspiration team with my first project and post on the blog and I am still pinching myself that I am here !

I was inspired to create this mixed media art journal page by all the lovely sunrises I have seen so far this year walking myself to better health and happiness in 2019. The gorgeous stamp set Plate1502 with the Ethos range of stamps by Tina Walker and sentiments were a perfect companion to my hand dyed calico fabric background.

The background was created using a tie dye kit and calico scraps. The colours represent the ocean, sky and sunrise. We have such beautiful sunrises here on the East Coast of Australia and I am lucky enough to sink my feet into the sand and watch the sunrise each morning while I walk.

VLVS! Supplies:
Plate 1502 : https://vlvstamps.com/plate-1502.html
Ink pads : Staz on - Black

Other Supplies:
American Crafts Black Cardstock
Calico,
Fabric Dyes - Navy, Teal, Coral, Cobalt, Orange
Cotton Thread,
Book Paper,
13Arts Ayeeda Inks,
Prima - Bloom Collection 6 x 12 Circle Stencil,
Ranger Distress Inks - Abandoned Coral and Cracked Pistachio

Thank you for stopping by the blog today !

Ask Permission by Guest Leanne Jago

Hello Viva Las VegaStamps!,
It is my first time here as a guest designer on the VLVS inspiration team and I am so excited to be here. **Insert squeal of delight**…
My first project I wanted to create a little mixed media piece.

Drawing inspiration from the January 2019 challenge inspiration board, combined with my love of Banksy inspired stamps and a sentiment to start the year of on a good note.
Also, I wanted to take the time to remind myself that, as an artist I don’t need to ask permission to create whatever my soul and heart wants and desires at the time and to just enjoy the ride.

Here is a process video :
