Merry Christmas ► Majo

Good Morning, my friends ♥

I don’t know, I just can’t get into the Christmas mood this year. This whole situation kind of paralyzes me.

Nevertheless, I have made a least one, it’s a start. It’s different, but you know me, that’s just the way it is.

I inked he background and stamped my beautiful ladies along with some branches on the edges. I colored their hair and added the sentiments, one on my card, the other on a piece of cardstock.

That was a quickie, by the number of cards I have to make, I might use these images more often and just create a different kind of cards this year, we’ll see …..

I have used the following stamps:

The lovely ladies from plate 1517

Pine Branches 3325

Merry Christmas 5742

Sentiment 686

Stay safe my friends, and find time to craft ♥

Greeting cards - Why fit in?

 Hello everyone,

I wouldn't say that I'm making cards often, but from time to time you just need a few greeting cards, right? So today is actually the first time I'm sharing a card design on the blog.

My cards are standard A2 sized cards (4 1/4 x 5 1/2 inch). I die cutted some pieces of watercolor paper to go on top of them.

The focal point I chose is the elephant on bike stamp which is quite large. It is also available in a smaller size that would perfectly fit onto an ATC. I'll link you both of them below, just in case you like the image as much as I do. ;-)
I stamped it on both my cards and colored it with some ZIG watercolor markers which was a really enjoyable process.

Next I stamped the image on some masking paper, cut that out and masked my colored and dried images. Now I added some background stamping with circles on the one card and squares on the other. I used Oxide ink (speckled egg) for this.

I also stamped the quote on some watercolor paper, trimmed it and inked the edges. But I didn't like it a lot, it was just looking lost. So I cut two rectangles that were a little larger than my quote and inked it up with some of the same Oxide ink I used for my background stamping.

I glued everything together and voilà!

Stamps used:
Elephant On Bike (2027)
not used, just a smaller version of the elephant: Teeny Tiny On Bike (9636)
Overlapping Squares by Corrie Herriman (19996)
Overlapping Circles by Corrie Herriman (19995)
Why Fit In (20082)

Other material:
- card bases (regular 300 gsm cardstock cut and folded)
- Canson watercolor paper 300 gsm
- MFT die (Stitched mod rectangle stax)
- masking paper
- Versaclair ink (nocturne)
- Distress oxide ink (speckled Egg)
- ZIG real brush watercolor pens

Hope you enjoyed my cards. See you soon!

Stop me before I paint again, a postcard

 Hello everyone,

For the second project for the month of November I have made a postcard:

And here is how I made it:

I started by colouring the paper with these two shades of Oxide inks. I then rubbed the Broken China ink pad over the stencil and spritzed it with water. I then printed it onto the card.

After it dried, I added some stamping using Oxide and Versafine inks.

I used an orange Distress Oxide to stamp the sentiment, I did that three times using my stamping platform. I then took the card out but not the stamp and spritzed water onto the stamped sentiment so it would run. I also added some splatters with the same orange ink.

Next, I put the card back into the stamping platform and stamped the sentiment again but now with black ink. I like the effect.

Next I stamped this hand print three times, again using my platform and heatembossed it with clear WOW embossing powder. I added black paint around the edges here and there and matted the card on a piece of black card stock.

I used the following VLVS! Stamps:

Other materials:

Distress Oxide inks:
Broken China, Tumbled Glass and Carved Pumpkin
Versafine Clair - Nocturne
WOW clear embossing powder
AALL & Create stencil #103 Pebble Pile

Thank you for stopping by today !

Starbound!

Who else is excited that it is FRIDAY??!!!  I look forward to the weekend even though I am working from home because I can create freely!!

I am sharing a card I created today, it has a celestial background...one that I had created previously but it spoke to me for this project.

Coloring is with Prisma Colored Pencils.

The background is black cardstock with gesso and Distress Oxide inks.  I added a few 'stars' with a white Signo pen.

The boy and dog are outline with a Stabilo All pencil for a tiny bit of definition.

I hope you take the time to look up at the stars...and maybe make a wish!

See you next month with some HOLIDAY CHEER!!!  Until next time...get inky!!

Covid19 Wall Hanger ► Majo

Good Morning, my friends!

Actually I wanted to start to show you some Christmas cards, but Covid19 seems to occupy my mind. So I decided to create another little canvas for my studio ….

I started by inking the canvas and stamped the image on a piece of tissue. I adhered it with Acrylic Liquid Medium and painted it with the same colors I had used for my background.

I stamped the “Stay the Fuck Home” sentiment, unfortunately it’s a bit hard to see. For more texture I used the Coronavirus from Plate 1524.

The sentiment underneath my lovely lady was also stamped on tissue, it makes it so much easier, since the canvas is just a bit rough.

I inked the edges in a darker color, added the string and some wooden charms and ready is yet another wall hanger.

I have used the following stamps:

Sentiment underneath from Plate 1524

Sentiment in the background from Plate 1524

Coronavirus from Plate 1524

Stay safe, my friends, find time to craft and enjoy ♥
