Bug Ornament by Tracy Blackwolf

 Hello all!

For my blog project today I made an ornament. It can be hung any where you like.

For this project I used 1" wood cubes and several stamps.

I start by hot gluing two cubes together. Then choose my stamps and stamp all sides of all three cubes. I used a black ink and a brown ink. sometimes I don't put the stamps on a block and use them free as then I bend the rubber around the block to continue the design. after stamping, dry the ink. Then I spray the stain colors on. and dry again.

You will need some jewelry parts or washers and bolts, what ever you like. I used a bead for the neck. and Jewelry parts for arms and legs. Also eye screws to attach arms and legs to. I make holes for the eye screws using a hand drill. I just eyeball it all.  I use glue in the holes and put the screw in. let dry.

At this time you can add any other charms or decorations you like. put on the "
arms & legs", glue the head on and done! You can seal them if you wish with some collage medium~ matte or glossy.  So many ways you can go with this project. They make great gifts too.
You can even add photos on it.
I hope you enjoyed this project! These can become addictive to do...You can use anything at all and any theme. use nails for legs...play and experiment.
Until next time~ stay arty!!

DREAM BIG - by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone - and Merry Christmas!

Today I have made a postcard using the lovely unicorn stamp!

First I made the background.  I wanted it to be fairly dark so I blended distress inks in Uncharted Mariner and Villainous Potion, leaving the middle lighter.

I then stamped the edges with the tree branches - I used Versafine Fantasia because I didn't want it to be black ink.

I stamped the unicorn onto thick card and coloured it with copic pens, just for some shading.

I stuck the unicorn onto the postcard, then stamped the plants over the top.

I used a moon mask to make a moon behind the unicorn's head, and went round the edges with a white pastel pencil to give it some definition.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment in white, and made some dots as stars with a white gel pen.

Lastly, I used a white gel pen to make some rough marks on the plants, to represent the light from the moon

I love the contrast of the white and blue together.

Santa by Tracy Blackwolf

 Hello Everyone!

Here is a card for the season for my blog this time- Enjoy.

I stamped Santa and used distress spray stains to paint him, as well as pearl ex paints. I went for a rather vintage feel for him, hence the the brown coat. after painting, I fussy cut him and used foam tape on the back- love that dimension!

Then I cut the gold and red and gold specked cardstock to size. I stamped the snowflake with versamark ink and then used a fluffy brush to put the mica powder over it. Shimmery blue flakes!
I then Decided on a phrase. I think this Santa just looks a bit tired or irritated, which I love. So I went to my computer and typed up the phrase and printed it out on a shimmer blue vellum to match the flakes.

I then layered it onto red cardstock and then attached to the main card.

And that is all there is to this card. Fun, quick, easy.
Hope you enjoyed, and I hope you have great holidays what ever you celebrate!

USE LOTS - by Fran Chalmers

Hello everyone!

Today I have made a postcard for you.

I smooshed some distress inks onto my mat to make the background.

I then stamped round the edge of the card.

I stamped the main image and coloured her in.

I stamped the sentiment on a piece of card which I had coloured the same as the background, only a little lighter so it would stand out a bit more. I edged it and the main postcard with black.

I stuck the main image on (after going round the edges with a black pen) and stuck the sentiment above.
