Guest Inspiration Team : Preeti D.

Hi folks :)
Hope you are doing well.
Dutt Preety (Preeti D.) here from the Guest Inspiration Team.
I'm happy & excited to share my first project for Viva Las VegaStamps!
I've created a Grungy Art Journal Spread- "Art Is..." using some gorgeous VLVS! rubber stamps.

Process:
1. Applied Heavy white gesso to the pages to prepare them for mixed media work
2. Sprinkled on Lindy's Gang Magicals on the pages & spritzed them with water to get an organic looking background

3. To create interest & texture in the background, did background stamping using multiple VLVS! stamps & archival ink
4. Prepared a masterboard using alcohol inks & then stamped over top with some more VLVS! stamps to create texture, then cut it into strips & distressed the edges of the strips

5. Stamped the quote and focal image onto watercolour paper, lightly coloured it with Zig markers, fussy cut these & distressed their edges
6. Created the focal clusters on both pages by layering die cuts, stamped strips, images & twine. Adhered the elements using soft matte gel
7. Darkened the edges of the pages with black archival ink & created white splatter using watered down gesso.

Guest Team Inspiration : Julia

Hello!
I wanted to make unusual and colorful postcards with unusual and fancy stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps.

I stamped various funny characters on white paper and cut them out.

And prepared backgrounds for postcards.
I took the gray paper, dyed it with acrylic paints and sprays, and then made holes in them with a special paper die.

On the reverse side I also decorated the cards with stamps.

Good luck!

One for the books...

Hello crafty friends!

I hope you are all having a wonderful day!

Today, I want to share a super fun art journal page. I have this punched to go in a happy planner. I wanted something to record books I've read on.

Stamps used:

I started with my blank art journal page, and stamped my dragon 1st in memento ink. (On a second piece of paper, I created a mask of the dragon)

With the dragon masked off, I stamped my library card. I masked off the 1st library card, and then stamped it a second time.

I used distress oxide ink to color my background and for the stenciling.

Next I should have stamped my library return dates, but I did this out of order so I had to remark everything.

With all the masks removed,  I used blick alcohol markers to color my dragon. I also used nuva glitter pen to add a little glitter.

I hope you all enjoy this page as much as I do.... now, to fill it with books.

What are you reading?

Art Journal Page by Jenn Engle "Anything You Can Get Away With"

Hey everyone! I have an art journal page to share today. It might turn out to be the cover of a mini art journal, we shall see.

Stamps Used:

I started out on a piece of watercolor paper and mixed some colors of fluid acrylic paint. I stamped with some white paint the Cross Marks Background stamp, then used my palette knife to scrape some gesso across my whole card.

I stamped out my main image and wrote and colored them with watercolors. I glued everything down and ran my whole piece thru the sewing machine. And that's it! Super simple.

Other Products Used:
Golden Fluid Acrylics
Blick Gesso
Jane Davenport Watercolors
Liquitex Acrylic Ink

"Dream Big" Art Journal Page | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here to share my latest VLVS design team project with you. Today I am sharing a whimsical style art journal page that I created called "Dream Big".

I used a range of stamps to create this page, with the feature being (of course) that gorgeous Unicorn. The majority of the stamps I used come from plate #918 and plate #1437.
(For a full linked list of stamps, please see end of post.)

In addition to the VLVS stamps, this page used fairly limited supplies - Ranger Distress Oxides; a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Brush Marker; and a Stabilo All pencil.

I love the "painted" look that stamping with Distress Oxides gives, especially when layered over the soft, blended background.

If you would like to see how I created this page, there is a process video available on the Viva Las VegaStamps YouTube channel:

VLVS stamps used:
- Unicorn
- Dandelion Silhouette
- Flower Border
- Flower Book Plate
- Pure Imagination
- Dream Big
- I hate reality
- Bursting Stars
- Sky of Stars Background

Other materials:
- Jane Davenport art journal
- Ranger Distress Oxides
- Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Brush Marker (clear)
- Stabilo All pencil (black)

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this, I hope I have inspired you to get inky too!
