Let Life Surprise You

Hello all you stampers out there!!! I created an art journal page for your inspiration!

I really wanted to play with simple colors and a simple stamp! If I could use this stamp everywhere!! I love it!

First I started with a #8 tag and trimmed it down.

Then I cut a panel of watercolor paper. I used some Distress Paint with the Numbers Set - 19659 stamp and covered the whole panel with it. Then I let it dry!

I forgot to photograph the the adding of blue distress ink. But I wet my fingers and threw the water not he paper.

Once it dries it gives it a nice look with water spots.

I stamped the image Vitruvian Man - 19763 on the the trimmed tag.

Then I colored the edges of the tag with some Distress Ink watered down.

I buffed the tag over with black ink again, throwing more water on the tag.

Then I stamped on the blue sheet with the Dictionary Page - 19015 and then threw down some black acrylic paint .

So here is the art journal page thrown together. What do you think??? Just a bit of inspirational fun right? Whenever you have a block just stamp and ink!!

Christmas Pocket Letter

Hi my dear crafty friends!

It's me, Susanne, today and I'd like to share a Christmas Pocket Letter. I have so much fun doing Pocket Letters altough I don't treat with them. I save them and send them to friends from time to time. Most of my Pocket Page layouts start with one full picture that I cut into nine pieces. For this one I used Distress Inks "Tumbled Glass" and "Pumice Stone" to create a watercolor background. Before I cut the cards I stamped a tree landscape on the bottom. I used the "XMas Silhouette Collage", the "Fir Trees Silhouette" and the "Redwood Trees".

I embellished every single card with different stamps. Sometimes I stamped them directly onto the card, sometimes I cut them out or embossed them. You'll find all stamps I've used at the end of this post.

I added some "snow" to every edge of the cards for a little bit more interest. I used texture paste together with Distress Glitter "Clear Rock Candy".

Not LOST

Halloween is over and in just a minute I am going to start thinking about my Christmas projects!! Before that though I wanted to ink up some of the new stamps I received in my last parcel of happiness.

I started with a scrap of watercolor paper and sprinkled some Brusho on one side and then sprayed with water.

I stamped the Wright Brothers Walking first, masked them and then stamped the Map of Arctic.  Both are stamped in archival ink.  I framed the Wright Brothers with a miniature blank polaroid from Um Wow Studios.

The chip is distressed with Distress Ink and water.

The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of white paper, Not all Who Wander, and then 'sewn' on with the Stitching stamp.

Thanks for popping in today!!  Now go get inky!!
Oh and join us on our facebook fan page, Viva Las VegaStamps! Groupies...we would love to see what you are creating!!

To my out of this world friends: card tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my VLVS monthly tutorial.
This time I made a card, but then it's a very Mixed Media card after all and it even looks more like an art piece.
So here we go!

Step by step instructions:
1. Cover the card sized white cardstock piece with a few layer of double sided Miracle tape  as shown. I used 1/2'' tape, but it can be done with thinner or thicker one too.

2.Use  square punches or just hand cut a few squares and rectangles to cover the entire piece and then glue them into the grid over the double sided tape. Do not try to cover all gaps as we really want to see them later.

3. Sprinkle blue glitter over the glued squares and see how it fills the gaps left over the glue.

3. Pick your VLVS stamps and stamp over the entire piece with white pigmented ink and heat emboss with black fine detail embossing powder. You can see all four stamps I used to make this card. They all totally fit the sentiment I had in my mind for this card.

4. Color the stamped images with distress markers as shown.

5. Ink the whole surface with a mix of distress inks over the and around the images.
Add your sentiment made of small stickers.
I made my sentiment as " To my out of this world crazy soul mates" and I mean my craft friends!

Hope you liked my small tutorial!

Boys just want to have fun!

Hello everyone,

It is my turn to share something today! As my first love is still art journaling I couldn't resist to make another journal page. I don't journal to write down my feelings or anything but I just enjoy using colour and different techniques to create interesting pages, often I try to put in some humour too. For me the enjoyment is the doing. So here goes:

I used Distress Inks to colour the paper: Twisted Citron and Mermaid Lagoon for the basis background and then some Peeled Paint and Chipped Sapphire for the edges.
I placed a stencil on the page, sprayed with water and dried it. You get a lovely lightening of the colours. Next I stamped the background randomly using a variety of stamps (list at the bottom of this post) and Archival ink in green, blue and grey and a white pigment ink.
I then went on to stamp the birds with black Archival ink. I had to do some colouring in afterwards as I didn't stamp perfectly; I used a black marker for this.
Next I stamped the boy on the swing, lengthened the chain up to the wire. I also stamped him on white card stock and I then coloured him in with water colour pencils, using a little bit of water to blend it. I cute the coloured image out and adhered it onto the one on the page.
The sentiment was stamped on white card stock, cut apart, glued to the page and doodled around.
That was it !

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Challenge inspiration november

Hi Hermine here. Every year I make myself a promisse to start making Christmas cards in january, do one a week and at th end of the year you have a great stack, but as always, in november I think WHY didn't I keep my promisse to myself when I realise I didn;t start yet. So here I started up with one idea and ended with 3 cards, now we are talking :o)

step 1: I cut a snowflake out of a doble card on the right hand side.
step 2: take a seperate piece of paper colour with a turquoise spray ink, leave to dry. Then take a template with the circles and spray again, leave to dry. Sponge with Distress ink the ouside circle so the tips of the snowflake turn out darker.
step 3: take Memento Luxe Wedding dress and stamp Xmas Silhouette collage 19713 and stars19291.
step 4: glue the coloured card behind the snowflake and splatter some ink on the front of the double card.

step 1: Because I still had the die-cut of the snowflake I deciced to use that as a mask, so put the snowflake on a double card on the right hand side and spray with turquoise spray in an dleave to dry.
step 2: put back on the snowflake and sponge with a few colours Distress ink.
step 3: Stamp with Memento Luxe Weddingdress Redwood Tress 19718 and a few times Fir Trees Silhouette 19723
step 4: Take Versamakr and stamp the Xmas silhouette Collage and the stars (on the right as well as on the left of the Xmas silhouette) and emboss with white embmossing powder.
step 5: splatter some water on the card and remove the water with a paper towel.

step 1: What was left was this awesome coloured snowflake and couldn't resist to make another card with so I stamped the Xmas Silhouette collage and the stars with Stazon Black.
step 2: spray some turqouise spray ink at the bottom of the card.
step 3: stamp with Versamark the Fir trees Silhouette twice and emboss with white embossingpowder.
step 4: Glue the snowflake in place.

Look HERE for all information about the November challenge and here is the inspiration board.

Hope you like it. And don't forget to enter the challenge, its so much fun to do.

Warmly Hermine

She Was a Dreamer Art Journal Page

Hello all you lovely stampers out there. Shanna here with a little art journal inspiration to share with you today!

First I started with stamping out some Grunge Numbers 19452 - Grunge 119453 - Grunge 219456 - Grunge 5, and 19461 - Grunge 0. Then I cut the numbers out.

I created a background with Distress Paints, then splashed water on the page, and then dabbed the paint off.

I used a stencil with some black acrylic paint.

I then did some stamping with these following stamps 19015 - Dictionary Page
19643 - Sawtooth Stitching Lines19565 - Measuring Tape Section with black ink and then the 19569 - Mesh Texture with some chalk ink.

Here is a better look at the chalk ink.

Then I glued the 2015 down and added some splatter of gesso, stamped the heart on the white spot I made for the stamp.

I used some black cardstock to emboss 19635 - She Was a Dreamer with white embossing powder.

Here are more close ups of the page!

I so love the doing bright art journal pages and hope to have inspired you today!
