A kind of pocket letter inspired by Banksy !

Hello everyone,

Today I have 9 ATC's for you. I have put them into one of those baseball card sleeves so I suppose that makes it a kind of pocket letter. I think the Banksy stamps are still my favourite and I really enjoy using them ! I have used a whole lot more of stamps for this project so sit back and enjoy !

And here is how I made it :

I made a basic background with acrylic paint and a gelli plate.  I cut the Mixed Media to size; 7,5 x 10,5" which is exactly 9 ATC's.

After I finished printing I used a brayer and white paint to tone it down a little.

Next I used this fabulous Dahlia stencil by UmWow Studio with Distress Oxide Inks. This is not waterproof but if you would like it to be you could always clear emboss over the top of your stencilling. This ink stays wet for a long time so it is ideal to heat emboss.

This is how that looked.

Next I added some stamping. I have to apologise for the blurry photo; I don't know what happened there..

Next I used the white paint and the brayer again to tone it down.

This is how it ended up. I like it ! :o)

Next I cut it into 9 equal pieces.

I then went through my Banksy stamps and selected the ones I wanted to use...

and where... once I had chosen it was a case of stamping the images onto the cards and the sentiments on separate white card stock. I wanted them white and black to make them stand out more.

And this is how it ended up !

Here are a few close ups...

I used an enormous amount of stamps for this project :

I hope you enjoyed my post today and I haven't exhausted you ! lol

Thank you for stopping by !

Banksy Takes Over The Postal Service!

Hello Again, and welcome back for another Fabulous

MAIL ART MONDAY with me Tera!!!

Today Banksy is here to take the over the mail with the latest mail art craze... Pocket Letters!!
If you are like me.. then you love the idea of fun art that you can scare with friends and can also be easily kept in a binder to enjoy for years!

I love that these fit perfectly into a standard business envelope and that you can tuck special surprises into each of the "pockets"...
some of my favorite things to add are Washi samples, Tea, Stickers, decorative paper clips, and of course... don't forget the letter!!!

To create this pocket letter I cut my black cardstock into 9 ATC sized pieces (2.5"x3.5") to use as my base. Then I cut a piece of decorative scrapbook paper to 2.25" x 3.25" so that I would have a small black boarder when they were layered. I glued one base to each colored piece.

I picked my theme (Banksy) and then began by stamping out each of the black base images on my cards . Next I decided I wanted gold as my accent color, so I added hints of gold to each card to bring everything together.

(Don't think of them as a layout just do 1 card at a time.. It won't feel over whelming that way....You can always move them around to find a layout when you finish them all.)

After all of the cards where assembled in the pockets I punched out some gold confetti to add to my pockets for a few shakers. (with gold washi tape to hold it in of course)... If you choose to do this and you want to fill the backs of each pocket add your surprises in the back before adding confetti and taping... it will be easier

Stamps Used:

Banksy Gas Mask Flower Girl 2 x 3 1/4

Stitching 3/4 x 2 1/2     (yes 3 different stitching stamps! One can never have too many!! lol)

Smear/Smudge 3/4 x 4 1/4

A little inspiration from me...

Hello everyone,

For my DT post today, I have made a pocket letter. I see lots of people making these and thought to have a look what all the fuss is about !! lol

Anyway, here it is, complete with a tutorial of how I made it ! Enjoy....

This is the finished product ...

It is based on this mood board with the following words:

femininity, women, exploration, rainbow, neutral and nature, storm, maps, vintage, writing, script, yellows, tans, black and white, stripes, bold, rainbows, storms and more!

I hope I did it justice...

Here is the process:

I started with a piece of white card stock measuring 10,5 x 7,5 inches. This is 9 ATC's.

I used distress ink (scattered straw) and a blending tool to colour the paper..

I also used Walnut Stain to age the edges...

Like so...

Next I used a stencil with Walnut stain Distress Ink and a blending tool and also with water in a spray bottle so you get darker than the page and lighter than the page...

Next I stamped the background using Archival Inks. I did use more than one stamp for this. A list of all the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post with links to the shop...

This is how it looks after stamping....

Here's a close up...

Next, I cut the now finished background into 9 ATC's..

and started looking for stamps to use, remembering the words from the mood board.

Work in process, I just stamped the images, some on white card stock some straight on the background. I coloured the ones I stamped on white card stock, cut them out and adhered them to the cards.

And here is the finished project again...
I quite like how it came out..  I slipped all the cards into an ATC page and put some washi tape at the edge where the holes are. I did re-punch the holes...

I also took pictures of the separate ATC's:

I hope you like my project and got some inspiration to play along with us... and NO you don't have to use that many stamps or make 9 ATC's.... Just take some of the words and colours and make something !

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I really hope you will play along with us this month !

Christmas Pocket Letter

Hi my dear crafty friends!

It's me, Susanne, today and I'd like to share a Christmas Pocket Letter. I have so much fun doing Pocket Letters altough I don't treat with them. I save them and send them to friends from time to time. Most of my Pocket Page layouts start with one full picture that I cut into nine pieces. For this one I used Distress Inks "Tumbled Glass" and "Pumice Stone" to create a watercolor background. Before I cut the cards I stamped a tree landscape on the bottom. I used the "XMas Silhouette Collage", the "Fir Trees Silhouette" and the "Redwood Trees".

I embellished every single card with different stamps. Sometimes I stamped them directly onto the card, sometimes I cut them out or embossed them. You'll find all stamps I've used at the end of this post.

I added some "snow" to every edge of the cards for a little bit more interest. I used texture paste together with Distress Glitter "Clear Rock Candy".
