Mermaid Dreamer Mail Art

Hello Everyone!!!

It's me Tera, here with a surprise guest post...

(I'm taking a little time off from my design teams for a bit to re-spark my creativity)

Once again, I want to share some super fun Mail Art envelope using some of the new releases.  For this, I was inspired by this months challenge "Summer"

(Warning Photo Heavy)

Stamps Used:
Plate 1495
(you know you are going to want them all of you are anything like me!)
Row of Scribble Circles
Typeset Scallop
Row of Numbers
Punchinella/Sequin Waste
The Moon
Fancy Mermaid
She was a Dreamer

Start by stamping out your mermaid on the envelope (A2) and on scrap paper for your mask.

Next, Using Momento ink "London Fog" I stamped the moon over the masked mermaid.

Using Memento Black ink I added my base for the mermaid to rest on.

To build the background I stamped the x's as my stars, and inked with Distress Oxide ink "Broken China"

Now to add some contrast, I sponged on 2 of the green inks from my kaleidacolor inks.

Time for the reveal... I love seeing things come together after the mask is removed.
I also forgot to take a picture before I stamped my 2 pieces in Distress ink "Blueprint sketch" to help frame everything.  I also added a but more color around the edges.

I also added the numbers along the right side in black Momento ink.

Here you can see where I have started the base colors on my mermaid...
I also stamped my sentiment "she was a dreamer" and outlined it with white gel pen to help it pop off of the page.

(The left if the finished mermaid. You can see some of the added glitter details from the Wink of Stella pen.  On the right side you can see more of the color building.)

Well, there you have it! I love how this envelope came together. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do!!

Dreaming of Wonderland Mail Art

Hello again!

Tera here, with another fun Mail Art Monday...

Today I want to share some fun wonderland themed mail art (with a touch of Halloween inspiration).

To start I stamped Tweedledee and Tweedledum, as well as the 3 triangles. Then I masked them off. I also masked off the address box.

Next I layered purple distress inks over the whole background. I used punchenella waste as a stencil to add extra depth.  Before removing the masks, I flicked water over the envelope to add a touch of additional depth.

Once the water spots dried, I removed all of the masks. I added the wonderland and plus sign stamp to add extra details to the envelope.

To finish everything I used the zig clean color markers to color everything off.

Stamps Used:

TweedleDum And TweedleDee 2 3/4 x 3

Nutty About Mail Art

Hello again,
it's me Tera here with a fun piece of mail art, that is just because I can.

When it comes to mail art I usually have a rhyme or reason,  but today I just created to create.  I basically picked stamps to use just because I liked them, and regardless of theme.

To start I began with a standard A2 envelope and stamped the fun little acorn.  I masked it off then stamped the doodle circles and grunge plus signs. ( I used them as an x)

The row of chevrons was used to create a focal spot for the address to be easily observed.

Now that all of the foreground stamping is done, I used various blue and green distress inks to lay color down on the background until I got a fade I was happy with.

From there i decided to add my background by stamping the numbers and dictionary page randomly in various distress inks.

Now to finish everything off i removed the mask and colored the acorn using a water brush and zig clean color markers. I also used black glitter pan pastels to edge around the acorn giving it a little bling.

Stamps Used:

Numbers Set 2 1/2 x 2

Thank you for checking out this tutorial, I hope it inspires you to get creative today!

Time to Celebrate- Mail Art Monday

Hello Again!!!

Welcome back for another fun Mail Art Monday project!!!

This one is super special to me.

This was created in honor of my friends and I finally graduating dental hygiene school!

Yes, that's right... I'm officially a Registered Dental Hygienist!!!

SO... Let's ... CELEBRATE!!!!

To start I began by stamping the creepy cone hat and creepy bald guy, and masking them off.  I also stamped the writing triangles and masked them off too.  At this time you should also mask of your desired address space (and trace around it).

Now time to add the fun stuff...
Stamp the doodle frame first across the top, then the chevron banner below it...
(because why have 1 banner when you can have 2 !?! )
Stamp Celebrate above the address box

Are you still hanging in there?
Good!
Time to pull this all together... I used Distress ink in blues, greens, and yellows to base ink the background... then to detail the background I randomly stamped the doodle dots and numbers set.
Now stamp the dictionary page around the edges to help pull focus to the center.

Now, Lets see how things look without the masks.
(this is always one of my favorite parts!)

Ok, now we are in the final stages!!
Stamp the stitching on the address label and color everything in.
(I used watercolor brush pens to color mine)

Then, to finish everything off I used black pan pastels to edge everything and make them pop!

Thanks for sticking in with me, I know this was a long one.
I hope you enjoyed this piece as much as me!!
