Hi everyone!

Today I have a card to celebrate women! I hope you like it :)

To make the background I used distress inks in Spiced Marmalade, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry.  I smooshed them with water then blended some on as well to fill the gaps and deepen the colour.

I added the sentiment so I could gauge where my lady would be standing on the card

I then made a mask of my main image so I could stamp the stars and know roughly where she would be.

Then I added to the background some stenciling (sequin waste) and some different stamps.  , I coloured some of the arrows in with a black pen.

I coloured my main image with copic pens and cut her out.

Lastly, I stuck her onto the black card so that she is standing on the sentiment. I went round the stars with a white pen and a black pen to add a bit of depth, and put a few lines of gold glitter pen (which you can't see properly in the photograph).

And that's it!  I hope you like her!

Happy Birthday ► Majo

Hi Peeps,

 it’s me again 😀

Today I show you a birthday card for my friend who favors orange and red flowers. Red is not my color, so I stuck to the Orange.

I used a lot of stamps:

20343

19416

10480

Circles 19998,19999, 20000,

from the Plate 1480, designed by Tara Calihan

14093

14092

I stamped the floral background in different colors and the circles right on top. After cutting them, I added a bit more ink and distressed the edges.

I stamped the waybill on my card and adhered the circles (flowers) with pop dots. I stamped the leafs and just fuzzy cut the stems.

The sentiment finished my birthday card.

While creating it popped to my mind that I had made a similar card ages ago, and see what a difference color makes:

Tag trio - Banksy girls

Hi everyone,

today I want to share with you a small series of colorful tags that I created. I always like to have a little something at hand to give away when swapping ATCs.

I started with three tags cut from watercolor paper with a size of 5.25 x 3 inch. I used Lindy's Magicals and water to create a few layers of color. Make sure to dry them beween the colors to avoid a muddy color mix.

Next, I added some of the good old mark making and texture stamps to the background. These stamps from plate 1495 are very versatile and perfect for a lot of backgrounds.
Also, I stamped three different Banksy girls on the tags. I used Versafine Claire ink for the girls as it is a very intense black and Archival ink in the background for a more distressed stamp impression. Then I inked the edges of the tags directly with the Archival ink pad.

I like adding ribbon to my tags for a finished look. Here I chose to tear some strips of cheesecloth and added some of the same stamps to these grungy strips as I have already used on the tags themselves. This really connects all the elements. Another idea might have been to 'dye' the ribbon with some colors from the background, but I think that might have been a little too much here.

From some black cardstock, I cut a base for each of my tags, a little larger than the tag to get this black edge around it. I glued them together and sandwiched the ribbon in between, secured with a little bit of liquid glue. To finish the tags, I added some quote stickers.

Hope you liked this project. Here are a few more detail photos:

September dreams by Tracy Blackwolf

Hello all!! Happy September!

Hope you enjoy the card I made for this post.....

This is not a photo opportunity.

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to the VivaLasVegaStamps! blog where today it is my turn to share a project. This time I have made an art journal spread and I had to use some of the new Banksy inspired stamps again. Love them !

As soon as I saw this rat and the girl on the stool I knew that I wanted to make these AJ pages!
I started with a blending tool and adding inks. I used Distress Oxide inks, Worn Lipstick, Mustard Seed and Spiced Marmalade. I then used a brayer and white paint and toned it down, especially along the edges. I then added some random stamping and used a circle stencil with more white paint.
I stamped the main images and gave them a little hint of colour, adhered them to the page on top of some washi tape. Lastly I added splatters, doodling and the sentiment of course which I think was apt for the scene.

I have used the following stamps:

Thank you for stopping by today!

DON'T WASTE A MOMENT by Fran

Hello everyone!

On Saturday it will be 20 years since the terror attacks on America.  In the UK over the last week there have been so many tv programmes remembering  the 9/11 atrocities, so today I have made a postcard to honour all those innocent people who lost their lives.

First of all, on a piece of 6" x 4" card I randomly stamped the background star, which I had inked in two colours - Distress Ink in Candied Apple and Versafine Clair Medieval Blue.  I felt the colour was a bit too intense so I decided to stamp it off once first to make it a little paler.

I stamped the main image in Medieval Blue on a separate piece of 180gsm paper and cut it out.

I stamped the sentiment "Don''t Waste a Moment of your Life Trying to be Normal" but discarded the words "Trying to be Normal" and mounted them on red card.

Finally I edged the card with the Medieval Blue.

STAMPS USED:

Weeping Statue of Liberty 19152 Plate 925

Don't Waste a Moment 19786 Plate 1470

Stars & Stripes Star 20609 Plate 1526 Plate

OTHER ITEMS USED:

White card

Distress ink in Candied Apple

Versafine Clair in Medieval Blue

Red Card

Hope you like this postcard.

Every day is a gift - live it as if it's your last!
