There is a universe inside you - notecard by Cheetarah

Hi all! It's Cheetarah here and I am sharing a note card I made with some lush Cat Kerr designs for VLVS! as the focal point. This card was fairly simple put together, it's stamped all on one layer and has a fun and bright effect due to the background stamp and perfect pearl sprays I used.

So I first stamped the Girl's face, masked it off and then stamped Expanding rays silhouette background over the masked face with a mixture of yellow and orange memento dewdrop inks.
The stamped some bits of the Squiggly stars and numbers here and there for some texture.
When the mask was still on I sprayed some perfect pearls kiwi glimmer mist over it for a sunshine effect for the rays. I then took the mask off, made sure the card was dry and colored the face with some letraset pro-markers.

Lastly I stamped the sentiment under the face, matted the card on a light blue cardstock (blue skies) and called it done!

You can do it art board

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my first October VLVS post.
This art piece is a kind of " stamp first and then find the title" one and it's totally different from my usual kind of crafting.
It's a Mixed Media piece made over 8*6 chipboard with all possible mediums.
I made the background with stencils and texture paste, gel mediums and glass beads, mists, paints and two VLVS stamps that was stamped on tissue paper.
When you have a very textured piece of art the only way to stamp over it is to add your stamped over tissue image and to glue it with gel medium or Mod Podge. As I really wanted this single Man in flying machine image on my art piece I had to find the title that fits this image and the general " fly away" theme.
I didn't want to make it general in this " Sky is a limit" style. So finally I found those very old leather letters and made this" YOU CAN DO IT" title. And it means that if you try hard- you can do everything.
Even to fly. Or even more than just to fly.

Here you can see how the image over tissue becomes the part of the art piece and you can't even see the tissue edges.

Good words are worth much and cost little

Good words are worth much and cost little - George Herbert.

I love using words in my ATC's so today I would like to share a series having fun with words and Viva Las VegaStamps!!  This first ATC is called "dress for rain" using the ever lovely lady swimsuit back (isn't she gorgeous???) and the  small cloud stamp
This next ATC is called "hot stuff" and I used the vampire or kisser stamp, isn't it hot??
and last but not least I had fun with this ATC called "high fashion" using the barrel lady, quarter of bullseye/target , row of stars, brick background and the solid star in circle (yes, 5 stamps on this little bitty ATC!!!)
and here is a close up to show the embossing I did on the brick background and quarter bullseye/target:
I also love how the gold stars just pop on that inky background! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects and I would love to hear which of these 3 ATC's was your favorite!

Contemplating on a swift year...

The year 2012 is rapidly coming to a close and it is this time of the year that makes me think more than anything about new goals for the new year. I am reminded of last year's goals. I always like to see how I did at completing the tasks at hand and then I move forward with a shiny brand new set of goals and tasks to attempt for the new year. Since I always begin by looking back, I am reminded of how swiftly this year went. Viva Las VegaStamps has many stamps to help convey that! Today I share with you an art journal page I made as I meditated on last year's accomplishments and brevity. Mists and reinker were layered and dried with a heat tool. Images were stamped with Archival ink and then markers were used to highlight the balloon stamp and to edge the journal page.

For this you will need:
mists/sprays--I used Tattered Angels
Distressed Reinker
Archival Ink--Black
Distressed Markers

Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my project! ~leslierahye
