Not every piece of street art is Banksy

Hello everyone,

welcome to the VivaLasVegaStamps! blog where today I have a tag to share:

here's how I made this:

I started with cutting a tag out of Mixed Media Paper and colouring it with Lindys Stamp gang sprays. I used Star Burst sprays which are sparkly.

Next I stamped randomly over the tag with different VLVS! Stamps (list below) and I also used an Um Wow studio stencil called Dahlia with white paint. Because the sprays are watersoluble they react with the white paint.

Next I stamped this lady on the tag and on some more MM paper; I coloured her with Zig Clean Color real brush markers and cut her out.

I then glued the cut out one onto the one on the tag; this was all the small details that are impossible to cut out, are there too.

Next I stamped the sentiment, cut it into strips and adhered it to the tag. I doodled around the strips and also along the edges of the tag with a black pen.

Lastly I added a piece of ribbon.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Mixed Media Paper; I used Daler Rowney 169 lb. or 250 gsm
UmWow Studio Dahlia stencil
Amsterdam Acrylic - Titanium White
Lindy's stamp gang Star Burst sprays: Marigold Yellow Orange and Yellow Rose of Texas
a piece of ribbon
Black pen
VersaFine Ink Onyx Black
Distress Oxide - Carved Pumpkin
StaZon - Dove Grey

Through the looking glass

Hello everyone,

The month of November has just started and that means the start of a new challenge! It is a fun one too !

Here is the inspiration board:

The words to go with this are : books, journals, alice in wonderland, gardens, garden items, terrariums, cloches, florals, pretty backgrounds, stark focal points, numbers, dates.

Of course when I saw the words : Alice in Wonderland I was sold ! I have made an Art Journal page:

This was so much fun to make ! I started with heat embossing the flowers with white embossing powder. Next I used Distress Oxide Inks to make the background. I used Antique Linen, Fossilised Amber and Peeled Paint. I used the same inks to stamp over the background here and there. Next I stamped the Alice in Wonderland figures on white card stock and gave them a tiny bit of shading, cut them out and adhered them onto the page. I also added some shading under the figures. Lastly I stamped the sentiment.

I have used the following stamps:

The floral stamp I used for the background and the library dates stamp are from the new release
Plate 1508; these will be available for single purchase soon.

Just because...

Hello everyone,

welcome to my 2nd blogpost this month. I have made an Art Journal spread this time and this is it.

The background was made with acrylic paint, a stencil, a babywipe and a blending tool. I started out on a gessoed surface. Next I added the stamping around the edges.
The lady and the sentiment were stamped on tissue paper and adhered with gel medium.
Lastly I drew a line around the edges.

A close up of the 'Banksy Wall singer' that is from the latest release.

The sentiment is from the same sheet. Love them both !

I have used the following stamps:
from the new release:

and for the background I have used my favourites:

Gone fishin'

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my post for today where I'd like to share a mini art journal spread.

I made this by brayering acrylic paint over the pages. I then used a mini gel printing plate to add the tone on tone flowers. Next I added some stamping and more flowers, this time with white paint . The flowers are a stencil btw.

I then stamped the girl on the page; I had to colour the birds in with a black marker because it didn't stamp very well. That is the rist of working directly in your journal. Much easier to work on loose pages so you can use a stamping tool.
I also stamped her on a piece of white paper and cut her and the bird cage and boat out. I adhered this over the stamped image on the page. I added a little colour with pencils.

The sentiment was stamped as a background stamp but also separate on white paper to use as a titel for the page. I also aded some white splatters and a line around the page.

I have used the following stamps :

Winter Wishes

Hello everyone,

and welcome to my post today. There is a new Challenge on the blog and today's post is a bit of inspiration for you. I hope you all play along with our Challenge this month. I have made a tag:

I coloured the tag (#8 shipping tag) with acrylic paints and then white embossed the stars. I took it to my sewing machine to create a border around the tag. I also distressed the edges.
Next I stamped the house, the star (this was stamped with paint) and the sentiment and scallops.
I coloured the house with Copics, cut it out and also cut out the star, the sentiment and the scallop.
Everything was then adhered to the tag. Lastly I stamped the dots at the bottom and added a piece of ribbon.

It is based on this moodboard for December:

The words to go with it are : frame, scallops, doodle, vintage, teal, gray, tan, white, black, Christmas, trees, winter, snowman, squirrel, snow angels, victorian, house, scenery, road, snowbanks.

I think I got quite a few of those words in my tag.

I have used the following stamps for my tag:

Wonderland

Hello everyone,

For today's DT post I have made an art journal.

This page was started with white card stock and gesso. I then brayered over turquoise and green acrylic paints. Next I used a layering stencil from Tim Holtz and with a blending tool and white paint added the circles.   The are very subtle. I also rubbed some white paint along the edges of the page. Using the same stencil and a text stamp I added some interest into the stencilled circles. Yes, I stamped over the stencil to get the print inside the circles.
Next I stamped some more, concentrating on the right bottom and top left. I used a variety of background stamps and different colours of Archival Ink. There is a list of all the stamps I used at the bottom of this post.
I then stamped the pigs and the man with the umbrella onto white card stock with Memento Ink and coloured them with Copic Markers, cut them out and adhered them onto the page. I added some shading under the man and added the sentiment directly to the page.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today. I hope I have given you some inspiration to dust off those stamps and start creating !

More mailart !

Hello everyone,

It's my turn to try and give you some inspiration for the new Challenge. I have to say that I had a little trouble with this one as red is really not my colour. So this mailart piece you see here is actually my second attempt. The first one ended up being torn up and thrown away... So here it is:

It is based on this inspiration board:

Words to go with this board:  red, stripes, cream, white, christmas, mail, mail art, stamps, letters to santa, glitter, handmade, diy, santa, belts and belt buckles, wishlist, etc.

I really like this inspiration board but as I said I don't really like using red and I hardly ever do in my crafting. But for this one I took a white envelope, masked off the address area and sponged the red stripes on it with Distress Inks and a blending tool... I used Barndoor and a bit of Fired Brick at the edges. Next I stamped the stitching around the address area and typed the address with my old typewriter. I then looked for a suitable postage stamp and found this one in my stash. Yes, I do collect stamps but only to use in my crafting ! Next I stamped the "Tis the season to be jolly!' around the edges (part of a stamp;  and yes, I cut it up; a full list of stamps used is at the bottom of this post), the deliver to and the staples on/off the postage stamp. The last think I did was stamp the little girl without her crown, drew the Christmas hat on her head, coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her to the envelope.

I used the following stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today and I hope you will participate in our challenge this month!

Off with her head !

Hello everyone,

Today I have made a set of three Alice in Wonderland ATC's. I have been making ATC's in threes for a while now and I am really enjoying this.... Hope I don't bore you with them....

Here they are all together...

Close- up of the queen

Close-up of Alice

Close- up of Tweedledee and Tweedledum

Here you can see you can still use them separately.

These ATC's were made with three pieces of card stock, VivaLasVegaStamps! & Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and Copic Markers, nothing else.
All I did was stamp the images on the ATC's and coloured them and the backgrounds. That was it !

I have used the following stamps:

Why hello ...

Hello everyone,

Yay, I have made it onto the VLVS! DT again and I am so very excited about this. It is such a nice DT and the stamps are fabulous ! For my first DT post in the new term I made a postcard. It is supposed to be a bit creepy but I am not very good at creepy so you might think it isn't ! lol

Here's a detail picture of the clown.

I used a background that was in my stash. Every now and then I will just make backgrounds for future projects. I don't use them every time but when I am strapped for time or when it is just the colour I am looking for I will use one. Today this one just was the right colour.
It was made with water and Primary Elements. So pretty...
I started with stamping the fence and the sentiment (I had already decided where the clown was going to go). I then stamped the background randomly. I also splattered some white ink on the card. (There is a full list of stamps I used at the bottom of this post). The clown was stamped on white card stock and on the card directly. I coloured him with Copic Markers and cut him out. I adhered the image to the card. The flower on the hat of the clown was stamped in yellow ink, doodled on and cut out. I adhered it to the image on the card. A white pen was used to doodle around the sentiment to make it stand out a bit more. And that was it !

I used the following stamps :

.. two days slow...

Hello everyone,

I have an art journal to share with you today.  First here is the finished article, then sit back, get a drink and enjoy the tutorial... I have to apologise as I used my favourite colour combination yet again !  I love the green and the turquoise together....

Here's how I made it:

First I got out a piece of Mixed Media Paper and put a layer of gesso on it.

Next I gave it some colour using Lindys Stampgang sprays. I used two flat Fabios, 'Merry go round Green' and 'Sea Breeze blue' and one Starburst spray 'Tibetan Poppy Teal'.

Keep on spraying, painting and dripping until you are happy with the result.

Next I used some model paste and a stencil to add some texture.

Then the fun starts with stamping the background. I used a variety of inks: Black Archival, Distress Inks and Memento. There is a full list of stamps I used and their links to VLVS! website is at the bottom of this post.

Next I stamped the main images I was going to use with Memento Ink as I was going to colour them with Copic Markers.

Here's how they look all stamped, coloured, cut out and clear embossed.

I then adhered them to my prepared page. Alice was adhered on some washi tape to ground her. I used a few bit of the same tape around the page for more interest.

The last thing I did was type the sentiment, which is a quote from Alice in Wonderland, on my old trusty typewriter. I cut it out, adhered it to the page and doodled around the srtips with a black pen.
That finished my Art Journal page.

I used the following stamps:
