A Friend Is Someone - by Fran Chalmers

 Hi everyone

Today I have made a postcard for you.  I hope you like it.

I made the background using Brushos and water, dabbing the card to control the brushos.

I stamped the main image on paper, coloured it in and cut it out.

I stamped the sentiment, cut the top bit off so I could separate the words, and edged them with a blue pen.

I edged the card with Blueprint Sketch Distress Oxide to bring it all together.

Then I glued the image and the sentiment onto the card, and hey presto!

Stamps Used:

Other Items Used:
Brushos in Ost. Blue and Marine Blue
Distress Oxide in Blueprint Sketch
Kuretake Zig pens
Blue Felt tip pen for edging

BANKSY Favourites by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone!

Today I have made a card using some older but favourite Banksy stamps.

 I star
ted with a background that I made a while ago on a gelli plate using brushos, and at the time I didn't like it, but it seemed perfect for these stamps.

I used a stamping platform to stamps the main image as I wanted it to be very black.

I stamped the safety pin around an ink splatter.  I marked the back of the stamp to help me see where the gap in the safety pin is.

I stamped the sentiment, and finished off the card by drawing an edging round the card with a fine black liner and coloured the skirt of the Mom to pick up the orange colour in the background.  I then mounted it onto a black card.

Stamps Used:

Pin through paper 19946

Other items used:
Blank black card
Brushos
Gelli plate
Black fine liner pen

SYMPATHY CARD by Fran Chalmers

 Hi everyone!

Unfortunately, I have had some sad news over the last week and have had to make a sympathy card.  It's relatively quick to make and I hope you like it.

I wet some card (which holds water well) and then sprinkled Ost. Blue brushos onto it, dabbing the excess water off with a tissue.

When I was satisfied with the amount of colour, and the card was completely dry, I stamped the main stamp in Versafine Clair Nocturn.

I then went round the edge of the mat with a blue Sharpie pen to match the tones in the brushos.

I stamped the inside of the card with the lovely sentiment on grief in Versafine Clair Medieval Blue.

Once I had stuck the mat onto the card, I grounded the tree with some Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch.

Stamps Used:

Other Items Used:

Brushos (Ost. Blue)
Versafine Clair in Nocturn and Medieval Blue
Distress Ink in Blueprint Sketch
Blue Sharpie Pen

See you next time.

Boys Just Want to have Fun - by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone!

Today I have made a tag, which talks about the boys for a change!

I made the background by first brayering on some colour onto a gel plate - I used Graphite by Elements Ink.

I then splattered some watered down Brushos in Grey, Burnt Sienna and Yellow

Once the background had dried, I stamped the main image onto it.  Then I stamped the image onto some thick paper to colour in.

After gluing the main image onto the tag, I stamped out the sentiment a couple of times and cut out each word so I could place them where I wanted to.  Once glued on, I went round the words with a fine black liner, as long as round the edge of the tag.

I finished the tag off by putting some fancy ribbon on the top.

Stamps Used:

Other Items Used:
Elements ink in Graphite
Brushos in Grey, Yellow and Burnt Sienna
Black Fine Liner
Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black
Copic Pens

See you next time!

MAKE ART NOT WAR - by Fran Chalmers

Hello everyone!

Today I have made a postcard with a great message.

Firstly I made a background using brushos and water.  I needed paper that would hold water to do this.  I love the way the brushos mix and make a textured look.

I stamped the main stamp in black on the lightest part of the background, which I then embossed with clear embossing powder.  I then added some gems and coloured the lips red.

In the darkest area I stamped the sentiment with Versamark so I could emboss it with white embossing powder.  I missed off the top and bottom of the stamp.

I finished off the postcard by adding a couple of edging stamps and some crosses on the background to give it some more interest .

Cross Marks Background 20165
