Iris tag

Hello everyone!
Natasha is here :)
I love irises and was very pleased then find VLVS! stamp with the image of this flower -
Fris ChamairisLatifolia lot all 3 x 5 1/4

And I made this tag:

I used the wood tag from Genuinely Jane Studios as a base. I covered it texture paste and add volume using the stamp - Harlequin Diamond Background 4 1/2 x 5 3/4.
After that, I painted tag whith sprays and stamp (Be Adorable 1 3/4 x 4 1/2).

To make the iris, I painted the paper (Cray-Pas oil pastels from Sakura) and stamping image above:)

Also I add little stamping tag (Tag 1 1/2 x 2 & Flora 3/4 x 1 1/2)

Have a nice day :)

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day Five

Welcome to a week full of inspiration!

and

All week we'll be teaming up with the folks @ Scor-Pal and using their amazing scoring tool in conjunction with Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamps!
--Leave comments all week long to be entered to win! Scor-Pal has an original Scor-Pal to give away PLUS a lb o' rubber! And we've got a ScorEnvi plus a lb o' rubber!--

We're rounding out this fab week with HERMINE:

Several notepads and sticky notes where laying around so I decided to make a cover with the scorpal to keep them together. I had so much fun playing around with the scorpal that I thougt that instead of tying a ribbon around it I make a matching box to contain it and so I did. I turned out great and fitted like a glove, and so easy to do so with this awesome device.
and TASHA:

I used my Scorpal to create the basis of the project.

With it it's very fast and easy!

 My project is dedicated to dolls games. To create it I used Grafic45 paper and artdoll stamps from VLVS! Art Doll Set-ATC Size 1 x 1, 1 x 1 1/4, 3/4 x 1 1/2 (2), 3/4 x 1 (2)
For the background I used
Washi Grid Background | Be Adorable 1 3/4 x 4 1/2

Now it's time to jump over to Scor-Pal and see what they're sharing today!

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day Four

Welcome to a week full of inspiration!

First up today we have GLENDA:

Hi everyone, Glenda here! This was my first time using the Scorpal and let me just say WOW!!! At first I wracked my brain trying to think of what I was going to make because I'm not a card person, but I am a total ATC addict!! So I thought why can't I make a little ATC booklet using the Scorpal, and I did!! The size of an ATC is 2 1/2 x 3 1/2 inches. I wanted to make a triple ATC so I cut my white cardstock into the size of 2 1/2 x 7 inches. I then placed that onto the Scorpal and it was so nice because it did the measuring and folding for me!!! I made 2 scores at the 2 1/2 inch mark and the 5 inch mark (and be careful that you don't go over them again like I did because I tore right through it and had to start again! haha) and then gently folded them like an accordion.

After that I decorated each mini page with a variety of super fun Viva Las VegaStamps!, Sakura gelly & micron pens, mists, paint and papers and now have a cute little ATC mini album. If one ATC is good how awesome is having 6 connected all together??

Here are the Viva Las VegaStamps! that I used to make this project:

And 2nd for today we have KAREN:

Dictionary Page | Owl In Vest | Large Doily

I used the ScorPal to make a caddy to sit on my desk with three compartments in it. Seeing as though I use a lot of tags in my creating I thought i'd make it to fit them.

I started by cutting and scoring three identical boxes, stuck them to each other, them painted them ( in hindsight I would of painted first before cutting and scoring.) Stamped my images on cardstock, added some colour and used miracle tape to stick them on. Added in a couple of idea-ogoly embellishments and taahh dahhh a new desk caddy!

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day Three

Welcome to a week full of inspiration!

First up for inspiration today is Lea Cioci! She's brought this superbly textured dimensional box!

It has been designed with her Scor-Pal.  She punched holes to add interest and more depth and has stamped some cardstock then adhered it under the holes on the inside of the box. The accents around the box and tag were created with Sakura of America Cray Pas.  The image of lady under umbrella and tag enhance the box cover lending it to be used as an "anytime gift" or "treat" when someone is having a bad day.

2nd up is Sandra with a super sweet little Halloween treat box! The top lid:

Sandra Says "using my Scor-Pal®, I scored a 7x7 piece of watercolor paper at 2 inches and 5 1/8 inches. Gelatos were used to paint the paper. I cut where the lines met at each corner, folded, and taped the flaps to make  a 3x3 1/8 lid. I stamped the Giant Jack-o-Lantern image onto a piece of Kromecote that I ironed under wax paper, and rubbed with an inkpad.  I colored the images with the Gellyrolls and cut it out.  I used soft gel medium to stick to the burlap."

 And for the actual box:

From Sandra : "Using my Scor-Pal®, I scored a 7x7 piece of watercolor paper at 2 inches and 5 inches. Then I followed the same procedure for cutting and folding as I did for the lid to make a 3x3 box. I stamped the images onto silk tissue paper and used the gel medium to glue them down.  I used the stardust pens to add a few swirls and lines and I was done!"

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day Two

Welcome to a week full of inspiration!

Up first today we have AMY LASSITER:

"I created this layout, after wanting to be able to use all the lines on the Scor-pal's board to make a hashed type of grid. I took a piece of 7 Dots paper, and scored it both horizontally and vertically, on the flip side, to create embossed lines. I didn't use each indicated line, but just chose randomly. After flipping over the paper, I ran a sponge lightly over the raised lines, using tuxedo black Momento ink, and then a blend of white and brown inks, for a very subtle gradient.
After inking the lines, I used the cracked background, and grunge1787 writing background stamps, as well as various paints and wet inks to create the background. After adding my photos, I embellished using UmWowStudio chipboard, flowers, bits and bobs. To create my flying pig, I used the butterfly wings and of course, the ever so cute pig peering stamps, to create the finishing touches on my "When Pigs Fly!" layout."

And second is SUSAN M. BROWN:

What does one do on a rainy day??? Play with dolls! Susan has been stamping and scoring up rooms for her neices' dolls. She's scored Kromecote cardstock and vellum hand doodled with Sakura Souffle® 3-D Opaque Ink pens, with this adorable bath tub stamp #5508... just to start! You'll have to click over to Susan's page "sbartist : painting in the dark" to see get even more details on this piece. From the looks of it - she's going through loads of our world-famous Miracle Tape, too!

ScorPal & VLVS! - Day One

Today I'm sharing with you my own (DeeDee here!) contribution -- A layout! I've been on a 12x12 binge lately using stamps to create most of my backgrounds.

Yesterday I showed this instagram picture as a sneak peek to today:

I've grabbed one of my recently received 7Dots Studios collections, my Viva Las VegaStamps! Star Pin stamp, and my Scor-Pal. The star was stamped in Archival Ink by ranger. I fussy cut the stars out and then scored them along the inside lines from point to point. This provides easy folding to make the star a 3D embellishment! Fold the points up and the "non points" down. Scrunch together and tada!

You can see how much DEPTH the star gets in this closeup shot.

and for the full reveal.....

The paper is from 7Dots Studio, random alphas from my stash, black thread (the randomness pattern of the thread is a inspired by our dear Amy Lassiter), washi tape from Gauche Alchemy, chipboard from UmWowStudio, Charcoal Chalkboard mist from Tattered Angels and brads and buttons from My Mind's Eye. The stamps used to create my background include Row of Stars, Carpe the hell, Film Strip, Star Pin and Coffee ring.

The film strip was stamped on the background, and then on each picture. The pictures were cut apart and layered on top of the stamp, creating my own CUSTOM strip of film!

Guest Designer {Samantha}

Welcome to the blog today :) -- It's time for our August Guest Designer to make an appearance -- Welcome Samantha Klaebe!!

"Hi there, my name is Samantha Klaebe. I live in Adelaide, South Australia with my wonderful husband, Adrian, and gorgeous soon to be one-year-old boy, Liam. We also have a furbaby - a very playful, energetic, loving and intelligent (though at times a little on the dopey side) Golden Retriever-cross-Labrador.

These three are the light of my life, inspiration and driving force behind many of my creations. I started my scrapbooking journey in 2003 when my husband and I moved to Brisbane, Queensland, for work. I needed a hobby and discovered a scrapbooking shop close by to where we were living.

From there, I started creating calendars and Christmas cards which over the years has evolved into a full-blown passion - some may call it an obsession. I now create invitations, cards, scrapbook pages, artist trading cards, mixed media and wall art. Anything really!

Over the past 12 months I've been able to build on my scrapbooking/craft skills after taking a year off from working as a registered nurse to be a stay-at-home mum. During this time I have created a blog called “my little paper world” (http://mylittlepaperworld.blogspot.com.au/) and branched out into the scrapbooking community. I am beyond thrilled to have been asked by Viva Las VagaStamps to be a guest designer and cannot wait to share my work with you.

Products Used:

o Kaisercard – Grey
o White Card Stock - Bazzill
o Pink Card Stock - Bazzill
o Pattern Paper (from my stash of paper scraps)
o Embossing Folder – Cricut Happy Birthday / Darice - Chevron
o Distressing Tool
o Silouette Cameo (though it’s easy enough to cut these with your paper trimmer)
o Double sided tape
o Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad
o VersaMark & White Embossing Powder
o Heat Gun
o Stamp-a-ma-jig
o VLVS Happy Birthday Sentiment (wood mounted)

*tip - post it notes make for fantasic masks.

I started with white cardstock cut 12x10cm. I then stamped VLVS Happy Birthday in the centre of the cardstock. Using my stamp-a-ma-jig I then filled in around the initial stamped imaged (using a masked technique to avoid stamping over the already stamped sentiment).

I then cut the stamped cardstock to fit pre-cut tags that I cut from my silhouette machine (9.5cmx6.5cm). I distressed the edges. I then glued this to some patterned paper and distress the edges again.

Next I embossed the tag using my cuttlebug. I stuck it all together and created a very simple tag that as you can see was used immediately as August/September seem to be the months where everyone I know has their birthday.

With the second tag I used the same method, except I used VersaMark and White embossing powder on pink cardstock.

Tag ARTifact from the Pyramids... 12 Tags of 2013 for August Viva Las VegaStamps! Style!!!

Welcome to Viva Las Vegastamps! Susan here today to share my take on T!m Holtz' 12 tags of 2013 for August... but done totally Viva Las VegaStamps! Style. Grab your shades... were heading to the Egyptian Pyramids to find some creative treasure.

First on a sheet of freezer paper {because my teflon sheet is currently handling a resin project}, I applied side by side three Ranger Distress Stains - Brushed Pewter, Old Paper, and Antique Linen. I misted my #8 manila tag with a light amount of water then dragged the tag through the puddle of ink. I tapped off the excess liquid and then heat set to dry.

I built up the layers of color with three applications using the same technique above and heat set to dry between layers. The brushed pewter gave a subtle metallic shimmer over the tag that looks like aged sandstone. I overstamped the "Basket Egyptian Goddess" #6101"Mummy Case/Female" #5806 and "Stylized Dog Border" #9827 using Staz-On Black ink. I also stamped each on acetate and a scrap paper to create masks for layering and scene building.

I prepared my masks, two on acetate and the others on paper and adhered to my tag with some removable adhesive runner. The colored image will not appear where the masked areas are. This process of building scenes is a bit time consuming with fussy cutting - but the end results are AMAZING!

I mounted the "Nile Flower Background" #1657 stamp and then began coloring with Ranger Distress Markers adding different colors directly onto the stamp. This is a detailed pattern, so I had to concentrate coloring similar sections. This was quite fun and relaxing coloring this large background. I remoistened the marker applied to the background stamp by breathing on it then stamped onto the tag.

The "Mummy Case/Female" #5806 was not as clear as I liked on the painted tag, though I did stamp clearly - so I stamped it again onto a brushed gold cardstock, fussy cut and adhered with my Miracle Tape right over the top. This did the trick! The gold gave the pop and extra bling that I desired. I went around the edge with a distressing tool for a frayed effect and rubbed edge with a couple colors of Distress Markers. To finish off - I added a pink pearl gem, some additional hand coloring and some ribbon to the top and bottom and this tag looks like it's an artifact straight from the Egypt.
