Month Challenge Inspiration Art Journal pages

Hello Everyone!
Tera here again with some fun inspiration for this months challenge board.

It feels like ages since I've played in my art journal.
This piece was super fun, and I plan to journal on them later. :D Some days you just need those pre-made bases for when the moment hits!

Stamps Used:

You can find the challenge Info HERE

I started with dylusions paints, a variety of stencils, and some Tim Holtz washi tape. I used gel pens and markers to add details

Next I stamped my main images ... Which of course begged for more doodling.
(I love these stamps!)

Next I added some of my "art journal-ish" fun stamps (yes I know I use these on almost everything, but what can I say, they are fabulous.... I linked to the whole plate also because if you are like me you will need them all!!! 1455 is one of my all time fav. plates!)

Thank you for looking! I hope you feel inspired to create also!!

Altered Folder

Hello all you awesome stampers out there. Shanna here today with an altered folder. I have some tracking sheets (water, meals, and habit tracker) I want to keep in one spot and not all over my office. So I recycled an old office folder to hold them.

So first off I covered it with gesso.

Then I used some acrylic paint with a brayer and spread it across the folder.

While the folder dried I used a mother color on some book paper then stamped with black in The Clockface stamp and cut it out.

Next I stamped the Writing Chevron stamp with some acrylic paint as well.

I used matte medium to adhere the clock face to the folder and gave a shadow outline to it with a  black gelato.

I stamped out the gunny numbers on white paper with black in and then cut them out.

I stamped more on the folder using these stamps and acrylic paint and then let it all dry.

So what do you think. A fun way to add some color to your office storage? I love this folder and think I may have a couple more too make. I think I even may add some stitching to this one.

This was not my dream

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this blogpost where I would like to share an art journal page with you today !

This page was started by adding model paste through a stencil on either side; I then added the colour. Today I used de Distress Oxide inks in Fossilized Amber, Spiced Marmalade, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. I smooshed them onto my craft sheet and spritzed with water. I then dragged my paper through it; adding water and drying. I repeated this with all three colours. Next I added splatters and stamping. I used the same DI inks but also black Archival to stamp the background.

The main image and sentiment were stamped on book paper, cut out and adhered on the page.
That was it !

A close up of the texture.

Cutie Pie - by Fiona Paltridge

Hello VLVS! peeps, Fiona here with you today.

Now don't fall over but ...... I made a layout! YES! I know ... it's been a while.

I have been playing around with my new HUGE 12x12 Gel Plate making some background papers and this one appeared! I loved it so much I had to make a layout with it almost straight away.

I layered the chevron stamp as a feature for the layout. I needed something to focus the eye on because the background was so busy.

Mind you, it probably didn't help that I added to it with my favourite writing circle stamp in gold ink. But it looks awesome ..... well I think it does.

I also had a blast adding the Fleur de Lis stamp as part of the background. I've had this one for a while now but haven't been sure what to use it on. This was the perfect project!

All Occasion Cuppa card

Hello everyone!
Today I want to share an easy any occasion card!

This is great for men and women too!

Stamps Used:

Using faded jeans distress ink and the invoice stamp I created the A2 card base.  (i also used a distress stencil). I stamped the man drinking tea on a separate piece of card stock and colored him with markers. To ground him a bit on the card I used a piece of washi tape. Super simple :D

June Challenge Inspiration by Jenn Engle

A new month means a new challenge here at VLVS and I am in love with the new inspiration photo.

STAMPS USED:

I decided to make an index card for my challenge inspiration. I started out by running my index card thru a "dots" embossing folder to play on the circles from the photo.

I used some paint that matches the photo: Folk Art Craft Paint in Pink Melon, Martha Stewart Satin Craft Paint in Pollen, and HandMade Modern Acrylic in Slate. I used the Pink Melon all over the background and the Slate to create a floor of sorts.

Still working on the background, I stamped just the script part of the "Nature Collage" stamp. Then, I scraped some Pollen paint across my card and dried that. I felt like the Pink Melon got sort of lost, so I added more of that color until I was happy.

While my background was drying, I stamped "girl with birdcage" on Bristol cardstock and colored it with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers in colors that matched the background. I glued that down on top of some matching thread, then added a quote from Tim Holtz Small Talk Stickers. I finished it off with using my sewing machine to stitch around the card.

We'd love if you joined in our June Challenge! I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Thanks for looking,
~Jenn
