"Love Bites..." a Valentine for the Twilight Fans!

Its Tuesday at Viva Las Vegastamps!...WELCOME to the PARTY!! Susan here today bringing you some Valentine inspiration ... complete with a Vampiress!

I have just returned from a whirlwind EXCITING week at CHA and YES!!! I got the pleasure of finally meeting DeeDee in person, as we were demoing together at the Amazing Mold Putty Booth. She is genuinely friendly, fun and bubbly and I have to say our shared love of stamps and everything creative made us immediate crafty pals for life! I'm already planning for my trip to Vegas in April to see my favorite "hair band" Def Leppard whose ballad "Love Bites" is the inspiration for this Valentine ATC {and to sneek off for a few hours to VLVS! to see DeeDee, too}.

I have inspiration overload from CHA - everything and anything has went into this, too many techniques to share them all in one post. What I will share is that - break out those off-season holiday stamps and make them work for other holidays! I've used stamps from Halloween, Christmas and others to make this ATC. Just play around and have FUN getting inky!!!

For the detail on the heart, I melted several layers of gold embossing powder onto a chipboard heart. I inked the gear heart with black pigment ink, reheated the gold embossing powder and pressed stamp into the hot melted embossing powder. For balance, I stamped the words "love bites" and embossed with gold embossing powder to finish this "Vampy Vixen" ATC off right. The golden heart is finished off with a ruffle fashioned out of crepe paper stamped with "23, 24, 25 measuring tape" from PLATE 1430.

Thanks so much for dropping by. If you have a little time... check out what the rest of the Viva Las Vegastamps! Design Team has been up to or head on over to the Viva Las Vegastamps! store - for all your stamping needs and for every occasion...and MIRACLE TAPE, too!

If you would like to see more of my creations please visit my blog, sbartist : painting in the dark HERE. I'll be back with another stamping adventure real soon! Hope you have an inky day! Sb

Embossed Greetings for the Holiday

Happy Tuesday stampers! Before I was a "stamper" I always loved the look of embossing on a card...especially a holiday card. With Viva Las VegaStamps High Gloss Emboss Enamel you can achieve the embossed look on you own cards. For this card I chose to use a collage image from Altered Pages but you could also use images from old holiday cards to stamp and emboss upon with this fantastic Ornament Ball Stamp!!
For my card I centered the ball stamp over the top of my collage image and stamped with Versamark Watermark Ink and sprinkled the ultrafine High Gloss Emboss Enamel. I dusted the very top of the ornament with Bronze Mixers to give the look of metal to the top. I attached a May Arts raffia ribbon through the hole of the ornament to finish it off. I mounted my ornament on top of an embossed piece of coredinations card stock which I had sanded to reveal the green for the leaves. I clear embossed snowflakes on the background piece. I clear embossed Season's Greetings in the bottom and then dusted it with Bronze Mixers. I zapped the top of the ornament and the sentiment one more time to melt the mixers into the emboss enamel.
For this project you will need:
Coredinations Card Stock
Emboss Folder and Sanding paper

Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my project! ~leslierahye

Put on your Yamaka it's time for Hanukkah!

Today is the first day of Hanukkah. This is what I celebrate  But lets face it, there is not very much fun Hanukkah stamps out there. There are lots of traditional looking stamps out there. I kinda over look those stamps, mostly because i'm not traditional type of girl. LOL I like the fun and different type stamps. When I was looking at the Viva Las Vegastamps! online store I saw this stamp, I had to get it.

A few years ago, me and a friend went to a Micheal's and they had a big white bags filled for previous $1 bin items for sale as grab bags for $2 each. Of course we got one. I have a bunch of coasters. One set I deiced to use and try to make Christmas mini's I had the coasters all cut and cover with paper, and that's all that I did with them....Til now.

Paper I used was Secret Santa by K & Co. They were already cut and glued onto the coasters last year. I stamped on white cardstock the Holiday cats in black memento ink pad. I colored them with Prisma color pencils. I added rock candy stickes to the white of the Santa hat. With the extra pieces of cardstock I stamped Oy to the world and Have yourself a merry little Christmas. Cut those out and went over the edges with black marker. I attached everything to the coaster with Miracle tape.   then went around the edges of the coaster with bronze craft paint.

Yes I know I need to fix this one. This is the first one I did. Didn't realized I colored part of the white trim of the hat. :/
