July Challenge - Steampunk it!

Hellooooo and welcome to our monthly challenge. This month we are featuring some of our newer stamps to inspire you with a STEAMPUNK Challenge!

We are inspiring you with words like rusty, steam & steampunk, mail art, delivery, pipes, vintage, oceanic & under the sea, umbrellas, postcard, script, stamps, handwriting, metal, copper, gold, bronze, nickel, handles, diving, divers and more!

Also >> Starting this month we are pairing up our SWAPS with our monthly challenges! So if you're extra inspired.. pop on into our facebook group and sign up for our swap. Double the fun easy peasy!

Don't forget the rules:

-Create a new project based on our inspiration board (it has to be posted this month, but you can certainly link up to other challenges as well!)

-Use at least one (but certainly more if you want) Viva Las VegaStamps! rubber stamps

(We are now allowing competitors stamps to be on your work, but please make VLVS! the focus of the project, thank you.)

-Post it to your blog with a link back to us

-Upload to our linky using your direct blog post link (You may also upload via facebook, flickr or other gallery)

Dive In - A Card by Fiona

Hello VLVstampy friends! Fiona here with you today to share a little card I made.

"Dive Into the Great Unknown" is a card of encouragement. Sometimes we need a little bit of encouragement to try something new. I began this card by stamping the dictionary page on to some crumpled tissue paper to create some of my background.

I just love this Whimsical little divers mask. I gave it just a little touch of colour to match the background papers I used.

I finished the card off by adding the title. Personally I love the great unknown. I find there's no better way to know whether you can do something or not than to dive in and have a go!

PANPASTEL Mini Album Cover

Up for today during our Pan Pastels Feature is Tera Callihan!! 

Hello Everyone! It's Tera here again. 

Today I want to share a fun mini album I created using PANPASTELS to create a beautiful marbled background with ease!

To start I sized up the stamps tat I wanted to use on my 4x4 Mini 

I used: 

Stamps:

Diver In Suit 1 1/2 x 3

Sunken Anchor 2 x 1 1/2

Not All Who Wander 3/4 x 2 1/2

PANPASTELs in: 
560.1 Phthalo Blue Ex.Dark
921.5 Pewter

Next I stamped the Diver In Suit 1 1/2 x 3 on the left side and prepared a "mask" of him that I will use to cover the areas I don't want to overlap

After the mask was placed I stamped the Sunken Anchor 2 x 1 1/2 slightly overlapping the "mask" of the Diver

  

Next I sponged the PANPASTEL in  Phthalo Blue Ex.Dark over the front of the album as well as along the spine

Next,  I colored the Diver with my gray marker, then sponged PANPASTEL over the top to add a beautiful shade and shimmer. I also colored the stone and grass with markers to help them pop

Stamp the quote "Not all who WANDER are LOST."  on a separate piece of card stock then cut out

Use the Blue PANPASTEL to edge all of the cut out pieces so that they stand out from the background

Use your favorite adhesive to glue the quote to the cover.

Finish off with eyelets and your favorite cord 

Enjoy your finished piece!!!
