Mail Art with Shanna

Hi everyone. Shanna here. I hope you all are staying safe and cool or warm. I am here today with my newest VLVS creation.

I altered an envelope with gesso and then painted it white. Then I sprayed it with some bloom spray. I then stamped the the Skinny Fir Tree with black ink.

Next I rubbed the whole envelope with an embossing pouch that makes it not sticky. Stamped December 25 with versa mark ink. Then heat set the embossing powder to melt down.

I did the same thing with the Wire Rings.

So check out some close ups and thank you for stopping by.

Sweater Weather

Hello everyone! Shanna here and I have a quick altered tag to give you some December Challenge inspiration.

Is this not a fabulous inspiration board for December! So much fun and it has my favorite color!!!! I do hope you take some time to play with us this month!

So I altered a quick tag and had fun with some paints and textured materials.

So I had a total different plan for my tag and it DID NOT WORK! I originally wanted to use some gold foil paper with the background stamp but the glue was not working with me :(. So I changed gears fast.

Let's start with the base of the tag. I used two colors of Distress Paint to make the background. I sprayed with water and ran it through the paint and then heat set the paint. I love the messy look.

Then after my background stamp not working for the gold foil technique I stamped with black ink and then ran through some ideas before settling on a clean and simple textured fix.

I don't have any photos of the stamping on canvas but it was pretty much that simple and cutting it out. I added a thin cheesecloth piece, adhering them by using a Tim Holtz Tiny Attacher. I also grabbed some random trim I had in a bin to finish off the tag.

Here are some photos and up close shots. Get in the spirit of holiday and HAVE FUN!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by today!

Wanderlust Wall Decor

HELLO!!! I haven't been feeling very crafty lately and I got some new stamps to spark a light. I decided to pull out some paperclay and had fun. I created a little bit of wall decor. So grab a drink and  scroll on down!

I started with rolling out some clay to a good thick layer. Stamped my background image into it and then cut it out.

I did the same thing for the stamp wanderlust.

I think painted the background with some paint and let it dry.

Once it dried I rubbed some rose gold wax on top.

I did the same thing with the word but in different colors.

Then I got some scrap cardboard. I get lots of boxes due to work and cut them up to use them in crafting. I added some compound tape and then gave it all a coat of gesso.

I forgot to snap a photo of what the wax looked like over the compound tape. Then added some cheesecloth. Then adhered everything together. It was really fun and simple and I hope you give it a try.

Wanderlust Canvas

Hello everyone. Shanna here and I am sharing my newest altered piece.

I have played with my gelli prints in a long time and I thought it would be fun.

I altered the canvas by gluing a piece of gelli printed paper to the top. Then I layered lots of ephemera pieces. Then I used the stamp Wanderlust on the bottom piece of ephemera.

I then used the Deathhead Moth on a piece of tea stained canvas and then mounted it to the canvas with some brass brads.

Everything got a coat of Raw Umber glaze before I added the moth to give everything a great cohesive look.

I hope you enjoyed my canvas. Thank you for stopping by today.

Something Wicked

Hello everyone. Shanna here with some challenge inspiration!

I had a blast recreating the challenge inspiration. I haven't made a card lately and I needed some quick and simple to do. This challenge was it!

I decided to make a Halloween card to celebrate and since I haven't made a card in ages I thought this would be fun.

So first I gathered my supplies.

I started with he main image with black ink then added the moon stamp as well.

Then I inked the cardstock with Mustard Seed leaving it white around her to give a glow.

Then I did another layer with Dried Marigold.

Then I did Spiced Marmalade.

Then a layer of Hickory Smoke.

Next I added the trees with black ink as well.

I had some scrap print paper that I gave a coat of gesso.

Then stamped the sentiment Something Wicked This Way Comes.

Rubbed over it with some left over ink.

I had a scrap piece of tea bag paper and I tucked that behind the sentiment to give my card a little more. Then I used a tiny attacher to staple it to the card.

Then mounted the card with sticky tape and bam! You have yourself a Halloween card.

Here are some close up.
