Happy Birthday ► Majo

Hello friends,

today I show you a birthday card for a special friend, she can take a joke. My bouquet of flowers is just a tad different, but fun nevertheless.

I started by inking watercolor paper and used this base to stamp all my images. After fuzzy cutting them I adhered them to a piece of cardstock. I had applied Gesso on it and created a background with a stencil.

I stamped the birthday greeting (Unfortunately I swiped over it with black ink on my hand, too late to start all over. Please, just don’t look) and put together my
bouquet of flowers.

I have used the following stamps:

20590

20594

20592

14307

7952

Flowers from plate 1471

Stay safe, be happy and find time to craft.

Halloween tags with witch and death moth

Hey everyone,

just two days until Halloween, so of course I have another inspiration project for this. Today I want to share these two tags. I know, it might be a bit hard to see on the photo, but guess which material I used as a base?

... it's foil! Windmill foil to be exact.

I cut my two tags from the foil and colored them with alcohol inks and some blending solution. I worked on them as long as I was happy with the look.

While they were drying, I stamped and cut two focal points - the witch with her broom and the death moth - on watercolor paper. I left a white boarder around both images. I usually don't do that, but I thought they needed a little more contrast to stand out against my colorful tags. Bonus: it made the cutting much easier. ;-)

To add more interest I chose a chipboard element for each tag and heatembossed it - my favorite thing to do with chipboard.

As my backgrounds have dried in the meantime, I could work a little more on them. I decided to turn the tag around and stamp on the smoother side without the alcohol ink. For stamping I used a white Stazeon ink which works really well on foil. I stamped the row of chakras as well as part of the tree stamp on the red tag and two different skulls and the branch antlers on the blue one. The tree and the antlers both create a similar look when you just stamp parts of it, but I wanted to give you double the inspiration.

I finished the tags by glueing the chipboard pieces, the cutout images and a lot of thread on them and added one of the Tim Holtz stickers on each.

I haven't had my alcohol inks for a while now, but it was fun playing with them on the foil. And of course there are some cool possibilities of using foil tags for decoration such as placing them in front of an electric candle.

Halloween

 Hello everyone,

For today's post I have made a Halloween themed journal page:

Here's how I made it:

I stamped the moon with the bats first on the page to determine where I wanted it. I also stamped it on a piece of paper that was coloured with Distress Oxide Inks and shaving foam. I am going to cut that one out and adhere it onto my page where the other one is.

Next I used Distress Oxide Inks in Weathered Wood and Black Soot to colour the background. I used the smoosh and dip method, drying in between layers.

I added some background stamping and cut out the yellow moon.

When the moon was put in place I added some stencilling with a Tim Holtz stencil and Distress Oxide inks, again Weathered Wood and Black soot.

Next I stamped my images...

Coloured them with my Copic Markers..

And adhered them onto my page. I put down some washi tape first to sit them on.

I decided not to use the words Trick or Treat that come with this cat stamp because they were to big in relation to the rest of the page. But I found another stamp which had the word Halloween in it which I thought would be perfect. I did add some black pen around the word and dragged my black ink pad along the edges.

And there you have it !

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:
Mixed Media paper
Distress Oxide Inks:
Black Soot
Weathered Wood
Versafine Clair:
Nocturne
Morning Mist
Copic Markers
TIm Holtz stencil TH147
Tim Holtz Halloween washi tape

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

The full moon is stamped in archival ink over the inky clouds and then color with the Posca white colored pencil.

This card was so much fun!!!

STOP ► Majo

Hello Peeps,

today I show you a creation I made for my art journal book.

I’m fed up by now, as probably most of you too with all the restrictions due to COVID19.

Nevertheless, I decided to put my inconvenience, not into words, but into a page.

I tell you how I made this.

I stamped the jar and the lady and protected them with masking fluid. I inked the page and stamped the fingerprints, the virus and some dots randomly.

After stamping the sentiments, I rubbed off the masking fluid and colored the lady and the jar.

I have used the following stamps:

Jar from plate 827

Lady and wings from plate 1523

Fingerprints, Sentiments and virus from plate 1524

Doodle Dots from plate 1471
