Art Journal: Perspective of Time by Cheetarah

Hi VLVStampers! Hope you all are having a wonderful day so far. It's Cheetarah here on the blog today and I have a little art journal spread to share with you made with lush VLVS! The focal point is a wonderful whimsical Scribble Girl designed by Tina Walker which is a new release! Check out the full plate HERE. Let me tell you how I made it and as usual, list of stamps are at the bottom of the post. 

I stared off in my pocket junk journal by adding gesso over some glued down ephemera (dictionary/book pages) and then scraping color with a used gift card until I was satisfied with the blend. I used midnight blue, fuchsia and a sea green acrylic paint for this. To add some more texture I took out my StencilGirl Stencils with some wonky geometrical shapes and lightly dabbed some paint through them. 

Next step I added more texture by stamping some yummy VLVS! texture stamps with Staz-On inks over the painted layer. The sentiment Past Present Future is also from a StencilGirl Stencil. I first used the sea green paint then traced it with a Fudeball pen. Now the base layer is done and went to work with the focal point. 

Tip if you want to use watercolors over acrylic paint layers: I bought this product a while back, watercolor ground by Daniel Smith Artists materials and really wanted to test it out as I love coloring images with watercolors. I applied a bit on the right page dried it with a heat tool to set then I stamped my focal image on it with archival ink. Then heat set it. My image was ready to be color in! Showing you some process shots of the coloring below:

The ground took the watercolors (Jane Davenport brand) very nicely and I was patient with adding the colors in layer and give it enough time to blend and dry until I was satisfied with the over all look of the the woman. Also the ground knocked down the background in brightness and to bring the pages together I stamped the previously used texture stamps over this layer. 

Stamped the word 'perspective' in the middle and splattered some rose gold paint & added a black border and called it done.

Banksy takes over the post again!

Hello Again!
Welcome back to another Mail Art Monday!

Today I want to share the Envelopes I made for the VLVS Banksy Mail Art swap on the

  Viva Las VegaStamps Groupies Facebook page! 

(I hope some of you joined in!)

To start I created a pair of A2 sized envelopes using my Envelope punch board and some blue watercolor looking scrapbook paper.  

Next I stamped all 3 of my Banksy stamps in black Stazon ink. (stamps listed below)

I masked off my address block, with an business card that I often use as a mask. 

(Hence the ink all already all over it...lol)

I traced around this with a black Micron pen.

Now to enhance the blue color, I used Distress inks in salty ocean and tumbled glass. 

The stencil I used was by Tim Holtz/Stampers Anonymous (THMS055)

Next, I added a few flicks of picket fence and black soot distress stains. 

After I removed the mask I added a few doodles around the inside of the address lock with my white gel pen and a black Micron.

Moon night

Hello all! Nataliya is here :)
And today I will inspire you for our October Challenge.
This is a little picture about Moon Night. Everything is ready for the Sabbath. And a witch, probably decided to take a dip in the lake... Halloween's romantic :)

And some tips for you :)
First of all, I was a little crumpled cardboard and painted it with Gesso:

Now I adding some spray with water:

The moon's place I painted with Masking Fluid:

And my favorite technique, stamping with Gelatos (Victorian Flourish 2 1/4 x 5)

Now I stamping stars (Stars 2 x 2 1/4) with 2 inks: Delicata Silvery Shimmer and Black Versa Fine from Tsukineko:

And now stamp landscape with StazOn: Weathered Tree 3 x 4 1/4, Moon Circle 1 3/4 x 1 1/2, Tall Daisy Arrangement 1 3/4 x 3, Floral Arrangement 2 1/4 x 3 3/4

It remains to draw a cauldron and broom!

The End Of The World?? Then Let's Say I LOVE YOU!

Good morning VLVS friends!

Well since the world is supposed to end today I decided to make

everyone I love a CARD! I mean that is the most important thing right?

Making sure they all know my stellar crafting power before our time is up! haha

Why not say it with some sass! 

As soon as I saw this stamp I knew it was perfect to mass produce

these lighthearted cards on such a crazy day....

 This card is fun bright and sure to bring cheer to those 

who expect this day to be their last...or maybe it will make

them giggle tomorrow??

1. Trim out 6X9 white cardstock base.

2. Trim out 2X2 cream card stock.

3. Stamp VLVS I Love You From The Bottom 1 3/4 X 1 3/4-

 Plate 1302 Item 16351 onto cream cardstock. 

4. Trim out 2 1/4X 2 1/4 happy color patterned paper.

5. Adhere sentiment onto patterned paper. 

6. Trim out 4.5X6" patterned paper and 4"X5.5" contrasting patterned paper. 

7. Layer papers.

8. Add crepe paper ruffle to middle of card as shown. 

9. Adhere sentiment onto journaling card. 

10. Using foam pop dots to pop journaling card into card center. 

11. Add flower.

12. Punch out butterflies.

13. Adhere butterflies.

14. Add Liquid Pearls for some happy cheer!
