 Good evening, Cathy here with a round card for you tonight.

I started out by die cutting the circle from white cardstock and then stamping grunge 1787 writing background on the background and then edged it with drown distress ink. 

Next, I stamped Vornii the bookish and colored him with copic markers. 

I then added a die cut so he could be grounded, and stamped Meddle not saying on a separate white cardstock and then I layered it on black and added it to the top of the circle. Lastly, I added some green glitter circles to the front.

I started with an A2 sized envelope. The 1st stamp I stamped was the creepy clown.  Once the clown was stamped, I stamped it again on scrap paper to create a mask. 

Next, I created the address block by tracing a mini playing card. (I left this in place as a mask also.)

I chose the typeset scallop to use as a banner.

 (You know banners are fun right?!)

Once the banner and all of the foreground pieces were masked off, I started on my background.  I used distress oxide ink in cracked pistachio to color my base color. Next, I stamped my grungy circles in the same cracked pistachio color.

At this point you can remove all of your masks.  I used Blick alcohol ink markers to add all my base colors.  I added a bit of blue watercolor colored pencil around the banner too. I added extra details with a white gelly roll pen.

Hello 2018! January Challenge

Our first challenge for January is here... and it's awesome.

We'd like you to pull deep down and bring forth your muse! Show us your face... real or whimsical, use greens of any hue, black & white. Be inspired by bold patterns, circles, dots, crosses, mark making, hatches, grungy, distress, layers & more. Mary Vogel Lozinak's images are a great way to start your year of stamping.

Mail Art Monday Card Collection

today I wanted to share something a little different than my usual envelopes... Today I want to share a set of 3 cards that I made using my new circle stamp designs.

 The base idea for these cards was to use these circles as flowers.

"Live Like There Is No Midnight"

Hello VLVS friends. It's challenge time!!! I've put together a little journal page using this months challenge as my inspiration.

"Live Like There Is No Midnight"

I drew most of my inspiration from the whimsical appearance of the challenge frame and took the words bold, characters and circles. 

I also incorporated the colour purple by adding some watercolor to the old book page wing I created.

This is a depiction of the story Cinderella, one of my favourite fairy tales. I even drew some little white mice! I incorporated the stamp quote "Her wings were made of bold patterns and bright colors" to represent Cinderella's courage.

I created a little pumpkin half way up my page and decorated it with two different style circle stamps.

I choose bold colours in the lime and orange for my background. I love the impact and contrast the black stamping has against it. For good measure, and because it happens to be my most favourite stamp at the moment, I added some stitching stamping!
