Make art not war - by Corrie

 Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an artjournal page and I had to use some Banksy inspired stamps again. I simply love them !

The background was made by painting it turquoise and lime and adding stencilling with the same colours, white and dark pink acrylic paint. I used Dina Wakley acrylics. I also used a brayer and white paint to tone the whole thing down again. I added stamping, doodling and washi tape and placed the soldiers on the top of the washi tape to ground them. The sentiment was cut apart and glued onto the page. I added some of the dark pink paint along the bottom edges of the words and at the end of the brush that the soldier on the right is holding.

I have used the following stamps:

I also used:
Dina Wakley acrylic paints:
Turquoise - Lime - Fuchsia
Amsterdam Acrylics Titanium White
Archival Inks - Aquamarine - Leaf Green - Jet Black
Washi tape
Posca white paint pen

Thank you so much for stopping by today!

Artist by Corrie

 Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made a journal page and I have used another Banksy inspired stamp for the focal image. I love them!

The background for this page was a mop up page from the gelli plate to which I added some stamping,  doodling and splattering.
I coloured the Banksy Wall Singer using watercolours this time and cut her out. As a sentiment I used some Clippings Stickers by Tim Holtz.

I have used the following stamps:

For stamping I used Archival Inks: Jet Black, Leaf Green, Aquamarine and Magenta Hue.

Starbound

 Hi everyone,

For today's post I have made and art journal spread in my small journal.

Here's how I made this:

I started with stamping the focal image with Archival ink and colouring it with watercolour markers.

I used Amsterdam Acrylics and a small gelli plate to add colour to my pages. I just roll the paint on the plate and then press it onto the pages. I used a bright yellow, a green and an orange.

I then took a brayer and some white acrylic paint and toned it down again. I thought the orange was to much.

I then added random stamping and some black paint around some of the edges. I used a paletknife to scrape the paint along the edge.

Next, I used a star stencil and white paint to add more interest and I stamped part of the main image onto the left page. I concentrated on the small text at the top and the bottom because I can't cute this out.

Next, I added a little more stamping, some black lines, I glued down the main image and added a sentiment. I also used part of another stamp; the word alien to add over the alien's body.

I used the following stamps:

Rest of the materials:
Amsterdam Acrylics
Gelli Arts Gelli Plate
Archival inks
Star stencil
Ecoline Brush Markers

Thank you for stopping by today.

Celebrate FREEDOM

Well here we are...6 months into 2021 and where I am from we just had all COVID restrictions lifted.  We are inching closer and closer to getting back to it.  AND here in the states we are very close to our Independence Day holiday.  These two things are what inspired my card today.

Stamps used:  Grunge American Flag, Banksy Peace Symbol

I mean...GRUNGE is my jam!!

I used Distress Heavy White Cardstock and Distress Ink (Speckled Egg) and Distress Spray (Pumice Stone) to start my background.  Then stamped the peace sign in Distress Ink (Speckled Egg) for some pattern.

The flag is stamped in Archival Ink and then with Distress Crayons (Festive Berries and Midnight Sketch) I did more grunging to the grunge flag.  My heart was HAPPY.

It is hard to see but of course a little sparkle on the star with stickles!!  I also used my paper distresser on the edges of the flag which is popped up for ATTENTION.

I am celebrating my freedom and the freedom of my country and remembering where it all came from.

Until next time...get inky!!

Fancy A Cuppa??

Who is ready to meet ALL their friend for a cuppa and CATCH UP??!!  I am and have been for a LONG time!!

This tag is inspired by my dream of restrictions being lifted!

My tag background is Distress Ink and Distress Oxide Spray.  The images are stamped in Archival Ink and colored with Prisma and Jolly Colored Pencils.

The washi acting as a 'table' is a 10mm designed by Tina Walker.  Fantastic isn't it??

I had a scrap of some paper twine from May Arts that finished off my tag perfectly!

The bright colors of the macarons make me smile and I am hopeful we can grab a cuppa soon!!

Until next time...get inky!

Life Is Now In Session

It seems that my last couple of projects have been tags and it looks like I was inspired again to create another tag.  But aren't tags FUN??!

And of course I always like to have some painted papers handy to choose from.  This is Dina Wakley acrylic paint brayered on to a piece of Ranger kraft cardstock.  I LOVE the bits of kraft peeking through the paint!!!

I was just in sunny Florida so I have sunshine and blue skies on my mind!

Stamps used:  Couple Kissing, Expanding Rays Silhouette, Life Is Now In Session

Our couple is stamped in Archival ink and colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.  They are ground with a bit of Um Wow Studio rusty washi tape.

I stamped the rays in Distress Paint, mustard seed and ripe persimmon.  A little dab of broken china on our chip cloud just ties the sun and sky together!

I am certainly ready for more fun in the sun and DEFINATELY ready for life to be back in session!!

Until next time...get inky!!

FLY!

Can you believe we are in March already???  AND spring is right around the corner in my neck of the woods...of course we always get one more snow storm right around Easter but that is what happens in the mid west!!

Today I have a subtly inspirational card for you...what it says to me is that you can do anything when you put your mind to it.

Stamps used: Boy in Cape, Get Cape, Whimsical Cloud, Whimsical Cloud, Expanding Rays Silhouette

The rays are stamped in Distress Oxide Ink, Speckled Egg; on a gelli printed background that was done with Dina Wakley Acrylic Paint, Sand.

Our caped boy is colored with Prisma Colored Pencils and the clouds are stamped with Archival Ink.

These stamps are some of my OG's and I love them still!!!

I hope you are inspired to do all the things and...
Until next time...get inky!!

Brave Wings

OK, so you may have noticed that I just LOVE all of the Scribble Girls by Ms. Tina Walker, and if you haven't...trust me when I say I DO!

Today I have a tag to share with you combining the new release of stamps with a previous release of Scribble Girls.

The tag is pulled from my stash of gelli printed tags and papers.

She is stamped in archival ink and colored with Posca Paint pens.  My favorite was to dress the girls!!!

I cut the earring with a craft knife so I could but the wings under them.  The wings are stamped on a magazine page from my stash that was gelli printed.

I do most of my gelli printing with Dina Wakley acrylic paint, I just love the colors.  The sentiment is written with my favorite Posca's.

I have a feeling this tag is going to end up in a journal, what do you think??

Until next time...get inky!

It is wine o'clock

Hello everyone,

For today's project I have made an art journal spread using one of my favourite colour combinations. Lately I have been using lots of blues and greens so it was nice to get back to my pinks and oranges!

I think quite of few of us feel like it is wine o'clock in this weird time we are living in ! lol

Here's how I made it..

First I tore two pages out of my journal, the one the final AJ is in, and cut it slightly smaller so I could glue it back into the book. I do this so the book doesn't get any thicker and fuller. I used a stencil and some modelling paste to get some texture and when this was dry I sprayed the pages with Distress Oxide Ink Sprays. The yellow wasn't bright enough form me so I added some Distress Oxide ink in a brighter yellow with a blending tool. (List of materials as well as the stamps I used is at the bottom of this post). After this was all dry I added some white paint over the top with a brayer. Of course it takes on the colour underneath and doesn't show up as white but simply lightens the colours.

Next I stamped the background with a variety of stamps and ink colours.

I then got carried away and forgot to take more photos but I didn't do an awful lot more to it. I just added the word currently and did some doodling around the edges. Then stamped the lady, coloured her with Copic Markers, cut her out and adhered her onto the right page. I then stamped the sentiment, changed it and added that to the left page. I doodled around the words, splattered some white ink around and added some shading under the lady.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest of materials:
Modeling paste, I used Grunge Paste by PaperArtsy
Stencil - Bubble by Tim Holtz

Distress Oxide Sprays: Picked Raspberry, Squeezed Lemonade and Spiced Marmelade
Distress Oxide Ink: Mustard Seed

White paint by Amsterdam

Archival Inks: Magenta Hue, Venetian Orange, Watering Can and Jet Black.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

All you need is love

Hello everyone,

I hope you are all well ! For today's DT post I have made an art journal page with an experimental background !

And here's how I made it:

I got the iZink Ice translucent gel paints by Seth Apter recently and I had to try them out, which I did with above result. It then was on my desk for a while until today when I decided to use it for my VLVS! project.

I added stamping (of course)... a full list of stamps I used is at the bottom of this post.

I also added some modelling paste through a stencil and some splatters. It is a very busy background but I am planning on just using black and white for the images.

I stamped the balloon girl and the cops directly on the page. I used a black marker to correct the balloons that didn't stamp right. The cops are a not stamped very well but that is not a problem as I am going to cover the image up with one stamped on book pages. This was just to make sure I had al the details.

And here it is all finished. I added a sticker saying 'all you need is love' and matted the whole page on black card stock so it popped even more.

I have used the following stamps:

Other materials:

iZink Ice in a few different bright colours
Archival ink: Jet Black, Watering Can, Aquamarine, Leaf Green, Saffron, Magenta Hue, Deep Purple.
Stencil by AALL & Create #2
Modeling paste by Finnabair.
