Today is also really cool, because I get to introduce our MARCH Guest Designer... JENNIFER INGLE! She's frequently referred to as Jingle, and is super talented.

Let's jump right into the beautiful ATC she's made for us today. We were super excited when she agreed to participate in our giant ATC Bash. Don't fret though, stay tuned for her next post to learn a little bit more about her.

I used Tim Holtz Distress inks and word stickers from his Ideo-ology line on watercolor paper. The stamps are both Viva Las VegaStamps!. To create the background, I stamped and embossed the Lacy Lines/Round image several times with clear powder. I then inked in three colors, blending as I went and sprayed the entire card with water to create a watercolor look. Finally, I stamped the Row of Stars stamp in black ink and adhered the words, inking the corners just a bit.

I have two stamp on which were written the words, having a little mystical meaning.
This is the "abyss" and the "moonlight".

 I always wanted to do any projects that will reflect my vision of these words.
I think the ATC's  size is very well suited for a quick description of these concepts.

I chose such materials as threads and microbeads - I think they are well suited to create a mystical atmosphere.

Of course, to describe the moonlight I just needed a light bulb!

I have used the "Into The Abyss", "In the pale moonlight"  stamps, and "Washi grid background"  for background.

I hope you feel the mystique!

At least, I tried very hard to show it to you!

Apocalypse Frame - ATC BASH

Hey folks!! Hope you're enjoying our ATC Bash so far. There is so much diversity on our team, I thought it would be a great way for everyone to showcase their talents and styles in a similar way. It also poses quite the challenge to work on such a small scale. 

So far you've seen Mary's and Glenda's. Today it's DeeDee here and I bring you my own ATC:

My ATC base is an index card covered in drywall tape and metal tape. The two have been layered over each other and stacked up. I used various tools like a pen, clay tools and an embossing stick to create faux rivets, staples and other textures. 

You can see the textures really well in this photo. I then completely covered the metal tape with Distress Paint in Black soot. Using a dry paper towel I buffed the paint off until it was left only in crevices and as a small covering on the raised surfaces. The chipboard film reel you see on top is a sneak peek at a piece coming up from UmWowStudio. It has been covered in Amazing Clear Cast resin from Amazing Creative Products.

My Man in Gas Mask has been stamped on a piece of 7 Dots Studio paper in Archival Ink by Ranger and adhered to the underside of the resin film reel with Heavy Gel Medium. I then put the two pieces together with fixative and adhered a couple of faux screw tops to the corners.

Time for transparencies!

Hi everyone, Glenda here with a tutorial on using alcohol inks, stamps and transparencies!  What I love about doing this is how you can see through the various layers and have fun layering things up.  Here is what you will need:

Stamps
Black Staz on Ink
Transparency
various patterned papers
ribbon
sticker
permanent markers
netting

The first thing I did was cut a piece from the transparancy in the 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 size, which is the standard size of an ATC.  For this piece I decided to use the fabulous SeaHorses facing stamp

and gathered the colors of alcohol inks that I wanted to use

 

and then I dropped drops of the inks onto the transparancy, making sure to use the rough side as it works better than the smooth side, especially when it comes to stamping.

You can keep adding as much alcohol ink as you like until you are satisfied with it how it looks.

You will have to let the inks air dry as drying them with a heat source will cause them to warp.  Once they are totally dry you can ink up your stamp with the staz on ink and then stamp the image onto the transparency.

 

Now you can have fun finding some patterned paper that you want to place your stamped image on top of.  I used these:

 and then I found out that you can use permanent markers for coloring in portions of the stamped image! I also used some gold leafing as well.

After this I added some little pom pom trim as well as a sticker and some netting and this is my finished ATC

 For my next ATC is used the pretty Sunflowers stamp

and wanted to use alcohol inks that would have the colors of a pretty green meadow so I used alot of greens as well as some blue and yellow towards the top.  I also use some Sakura gelly pens to color in my sunflowers and loved this effect!!

I then added a piece of Hambly transparency and used some alpha stickers to spell "flowers" and this is the finished ATC:

Make A Wish.

 

Hello!!  It's Mary here, with the very first ATC in our ATC BASH! 

 

For my ATC, I've done a bit of double stamping.  First, I've inked up the Blowing Dandelion stamp up with a variety of Distress Ink colors and stamped down.  A small amount of water sprayed over the image allowed the inks to bleed.  Then, I re-stamped directly on top with Staze-On.  The resulting image is solid black with a touch of watercolor.

 

 

To finish it off, I've stitched the word 'WISH.' from the Make A Wish sentiment stamp.  A bit of white splatter and some glitter peeking through finishes the ATC.

I'm pretty new to ATC's, but I have to admit these small works of art are really fun!!  They're tiny, but they can pack some serious punch.  Stay tuned for more ATC fabulosity from the rest of the team over the next two weeks!

step 1:  Here is the link to a You Tube video on how to make a diamond fold card.

step 2: Mask of the areas you don't want to stamp on. Then take the Harlequin Diamond background 18920 and ink it with different colours distress ink and stamp on both sides. With Stazon Black you stamp on of the pen tips 18792 at the top and bottom of both sides and Compass 19248 also on both side. Remove the masks

step 3: take the same colours as for the diamond background and ink the spotty background 1461,  stamp this in a angle in the triangles, you onlye use half of the stamp.

step 4:  Stamp Docter Who 19251 with Stazon in the middle of the diamond fold and colour with watercolour pencils and a waterbrush. Now you are ready to fold the card.

Its just awesome to do and the receipient of these type of cards will be over the moon.

The Road Less Traveled

Hello stamp fanatics, it's Amy here today, to share a small wooden canvas I made, with some of my favorite Viva Las VegaStamps!

For this project, I began by covering the wood background (a scroll album page from Genuinely Jane Studios) with a layer of diluted copper acrylic paint, spread very thin using a putty knife. Over the top of the painted page, I stamped the coffee ring stain and Cursive Writing Background stamps randomly, using Clearsnap Mix'd Media Inx in Black/Noir. When this was dry, I sprayed fixative over the top; and repeated the thin layer of paint (other colors included gold,silver and aqua), stamping (with the same stamps), drying, fixative....five times. This created a nicely textured background with lots of depth, without much texture.

Over the top of my background, I added plenty of paint and ink splatter, and then began to layer my paper, including a vintage photo.
 
I layered up some of my favorite new papers from 7 Dots Studio's "Nature Walk" collection, and adhered them, and my photo, using miracle tape. I also stamped several images, including: The Road Not Taken, Hands Pointing, No.5 Tag (the top only), coloring them using Stamper's Big Brush Pens from Faber Castell on library cards, and cutting the images out. The lighter I colored, the more of a watercolored look I achieved, which was fun and added interest.

For the top right corner cluster, I used a chipboard gear from UmWowStudio (all dolled up with copper embossing powder), and placed the Moon Circle stamp behind it. The bee on top of the "moon gear" is from the Italian Sonnet Background stamp; this was also colored using Stamper's Big Brush Pens from Faber Castell Design Memory Craft.


 Finally, I added a bit of subtle stamping to the edges of the papers, using the checkerboard background, and after embellishing further with metal bits and bobs, as well as some flair, I stamped the UmWowStudio layered circle chipboard with the word "lost" from the Let's Get Lost stamp.

I'm very pleased with the way this canvas came out, celebrating a photo I found in a bin at an antique mall.....wondering who the baby was, and where they went in life.....years later. The photo was lost, but found its way to a new home, where it became a piece of art. I bet that was something the photographer, or the parents of the baby never thought would occur, when this was taken over 100 years ago. :)
