Hi my dear crafty friends!
Susanne here and I'm sharing an art journal page today. I used the beautiful "Fed-up Vintage Lady " stamp as my focal point.
For my background I used a kind of embossing resist technique. Instead of watercolour I used white acrylic paint. I learned this in a video by Marion Emberson from WOW! Embossing Powder. She calles it White Out Resist technique.
Start by colouring the background with PanPastels. Next step is stamping the "" image with embossing ink. Use clear powder, so your background will shine through. Add a l layer of white acrylic paint on top. Let it sit for a short moment and wipe the colour off the embossed parts with a baby wipe.
The result is a shabby background. I used the "Scribble Heart" and "Sawtooth Stitching Lines" to add some details.
Finally I added my focal image with the sentiment on top of a silver thread.
Thank you for stopping by today!
xx Susanne

Time has expired...
Hi everyone! It's Susanne today and I'd like to give you some more inspiration for this month's challenge. Here is the our monthly challenge inspiration:
I created a mixed media Artist Trading Card.
I used some watercolor paper and stamped parts of the "Dictionary Page" stamp with VersaMark Ink. Now I colored the whole background with black PanPastels. The pigments of the pastels stick to the VersaMark Ink. Together with the watercolor texture the result is a nice background to work on.
Next step was stamping the "Film Strip" with jet black Archival Ink. I added also two butterflies from the "Butterfly Specimens" stamp. I always inked up only one buttefly by masking the adjacent with washi tape. I added some red to the film strip, just to bring out the black and white theme.
Now it was time to add some gesso to highlight the area where I wanted to place the words. I used the "Your Time As A Caterpillar" sentiment. I missed a border arround the ATC so I added some lace with the "Lace Background" stamp and blacked the edges with a black Neocolor crayon.
To finish it up I used a white uniPOSCA marker as well as a black Pitt Artist Pen and did some doodling.
Thanks for stopping by today, Susanne.

Dream Big with PanPastel / Nataliya Serova
Our fifth and final day featuring PanPastels is brought to you by Natasha Serova and she's stamping and pasteling with VersaMark! Here's another shout out to PanPastel and how neat they are to work with. I hope you've enjoyed our week long inspiration!
Hello all, Nataliya is here :)
I think you have already seen how steep PanPastel! I'm just crazy about them, really :) I was most impressed by the ability to use it with VersaMark - the effect is simply incredible! And with PanPastel, VersaMark and, of course, stamps VLVS! I made a card about how important to dreaming.
Look how chic background turned out! I just toned it using Violet & Permanent Red Tint PanPastel.
And this is another piece of background. Here you can see how PanPastel allocates pattern made using textured paste.
And my VLVS!
