CD art journal

Hi Hermine here. This CD case was a present from a dear friend and instead of using it as a storage case I decided to turn it into an art journal. Using old CD's as pages.

 

This is how it looks when the firsts page is added to the case. Below you will find the describtion of this page.

 

step 1: sand the CD to remoce the metallic layer. I did this in my art room but because the metall is so static it clings onto everything, so i advice you to do this outside. I know I will do so next time.

step 2: Take 3 colours of Memento de Luxe and cover the CD, using the yellow in the middle, sponge  the dge with orange and then a little with red. Heatset untill completely dry.

step 3: Stamp the Harlequin Diamond background 18920 with blue and the spotty background 1461 with Radiant Neon orange. Heatset untill completely dry

step 4: Stamp the Vintage Lighthouse 19288 , Lighthouse scene 19125 and tekst In the pale moonlight 19351 with Memento de Luxe Black. Heatset untill completely dry

step 4: make some accetns with a white Sharpie pen.

 

As you can see here the CD is semi transparant, I stamped on a piece of paper but the bird where on a spot that they weren't that vivisble anymore, so I used the paper for another page (see below)

 

step 1: is the same as above.

step 2: sponge the Cd with Memento purple and blue, don't heat set yet but put the large wasp 19014, Waybill/invoice background 19416, washi chevron background 19072, color wheel lines 19338 into the wet ink and wiggle a little, this way you remove the ink and get clear spots. Then heatset untill completely dry.

step 3: stamp pair of boots 19239, coffee ring stain 19230, pylon 19232 with Memento de Luxe black and heat.

step 4: make some accents with a white Sharpie

 

Finally I got to use the paper with the birds on a wire. 

step 1: Sand the CD

step 2: Stamped birds on wire 18098 and  the time flies 19008 on it with Memento De Luxe black. Put aside

step 3: colour the CD with Memnto de Luxe green. Heatset and then take a stencil and sponge some blue. Put the paper behind the CD and put it into the sleeve. I love how this looks

Inspiration November challenge - how to decorate a wine bottle

Hi Hermine here. This time is was my turn to make an inspiration piece for the november challenge. Down below a little tutorial on how to decorate a bottle, its an awesome way to make a present.

 

Used the colours to make this inspiration piece.  

 

The template for a wine bottle of 750 ml

 

First you use the template and make the holes for the eyelets already, this way if the lines disapeare when you colour it with inks or paints you still know where to carve your lines.

 

Colour your paper, I used Dylussions spray ink

 

Take a stencil and make the checkered part and stamp with white ink the washi grid background 19074 and the Blowing Dandallion with seeds 19048. Stamp with Stazon Black the Chevron Banner 19042 at the top.

 

Take a scrap piece of paper and stamp with Stazon Black Drink me 19289, Untill further notice 19172 and the Dancing Lady 19183. Colour them and cut out. Glue them on the background

 

Put the eyelets in and use some matching washi tape. At the right hand side I made a little hole and put a charm on it, they are meant to put around the stem of a glass so everyone knows which glass is from whom. Funny thing is that once you put it around the bottle and remove it again it keeps its shape.

 

A second sample with a champagne bottle, different colours and stamps. And instead of 6 bands I used 7.

 

Used stamps for this bottle are: Chevron banner 19042, Bursting stars 19048, Make a wish 19040,  Whimsical man with whip 18981, with love 19302

 

Hope you like it. It makes awesome present for birthdays, anniversaries, thank you's or just because...  and you don't need wine or champagne bottles, think shower/bath gels or anuthing else that goes in a bottle.

Several notepads and sticky notes where laying around so I decided to make a cover with the scorpal to keep them together. I had so much fun playing around with the scorpal that I thougt that instead of tying a ribbon around it I make a matching box to contain it and so I did. I turned out great and fitted like a glove, and so easy to do so with this awesome device.

I used my Scorpal to create the basis of the project.

With it it's very fast and easy!

 My project is dedicated to dolls games. To create it I used Grafic45 paper and artdoll stamps from VLVS! Art Doll Set-ATC Size 1 x 1, 1 x 1 1/4, 3/4 x 1 1/2 (2), 3/4 x 1 (2)
For the background I used

Susan has created a spectacular haunted accordion book using two sections of the Genuinely Jane Studios Wood Book - Square With Star Cut Out - G102 Size: 4 x 4" for the covers of this Spooky Stamped Mini Book. The wood pages are covered using misted brown paper mounted using our own MIRACLE SHEETS; then overstamped with layers of barbed wire background #5793... just to start! The inside accordion pages are a plethora of inky stamped goodness using loads of VLVS! stamps and a SURPRISE awaits on the back cover.

Helmar & VLVS! Inspiration {Susan & Hermine}

Well folks, this is wrapping up our final day with Helmar, and we're so full of ideas after our week long celebration!

Today we're ending with a bang and I'm super excited to show you two projects...

The first by Susan with this AWESOME cake!

She has put together this cake with some recycled ribbon spools and the following stamps from Viva Las VegaStamps! : Cat Jumping, Party Streamers, Washi Lines Background, Large Doily, and Celebrate. She's also done a great job utilizing the extensive line of adhesives from Helmar including 450 Quick Dry, Craft and Hobby PVA, Craft and Decoupage Paste, Fabric Glue and Scrap Dots.

And rounding out our week have Hermine:

For the front cover of her journal she has used the Swirl, Washi Grid BG, Be Adorable, Blowing Dandelion and Wheeled Jester from Viva Las VegaStamps!.
