Bloom

Happy Spring!!!  I am so excited to be seeing nice warm weather here in the mid west!! I hope you are getting some warmth where ever you are!

In the spring we see lots of baby announcements and this year there have been many!!  I was inspired by them to create this tag.

Stamps used:  Mary Jane Shoes, Doodle Flower/Garden, Bloom Where You Are Planted

I just LOVE those little Mary Janes!!!

I had a pre stenciled (with a Tim Holtz stencil and distress ink) tag that worked out perfect. I stamped the doodle garden in 3 colors of archiva ink and them outline with a white Stabilo All pencil.  The Mary Janes are colored with Prisma Colored Pencils.

The sentiment is just perfect to welcome a little princess!

Hope you are inspired by Spring or babies or just about anything and get to creating!!
Until next time...get inky!

"Dream Big" Art Journal Page | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here to share my latest VLVS design team project with you. Today I am sharing a whimsical style art journal page that I created called "Dream Big".

I used a range of stamps to create this page, with the feature being (of course) that gorgeous Unicorn. The majority of the stamps I used come from plate #918 and plate #1437.
(For a full linked list of stamps, please see end of post.)

In addition to the VLVS stamps, this page used fairly limited supplies - Ranger Distress Oxides; a Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Brush Marker; and a Stabilo All pencil.

I love the "painted" look that stamping with Distress Oxides gives, especially when layered over the soft, blended background.

If you would like to see how I created this page, there is a process video available on the Viva Las VegaStamps YouTube channel:

VLVS stamps used:
- Unicorn
- Dandelion Silhouette
- Flower Border
- Flower Book Plate
- Pure Imagination
- Dream Big
- I hate reality
- Bursting Stars
- Sky of Stars Background

Other materials:
- Jane Davenport art journal
- Ranger Distress Oxides
- Colour Blast Colour Shimmer Brush Marker (clear)
- Stabilo All pencil (black)

Thanks for stopping by today so I could share this, I hope I have inspired you to get inky too!

Faceoff

Hello friends!!
Michele here today and I am sharing a little peek at a collaboration project I am working on with my good friend Tina.  We are making 4"x4" books all about...you guessed it, FACES.
Today I would like to share 2 of the pages of my 10 page book that I created using some fantastic Viva Las VegaStamps! images.

Here is the first one:

I stamped the face on tissue and applied to my stamped and painted background with gel medium.

She is colored with watercolor pencils and distress crayons.

I drew and paintd hair around the face with a stabilo pencil, distress crayon and watercolor pencil.

And now the second page:

The faces stamp is embossed with Ultra High Gloss Embossing Powder.

The background is distress oxide ink.

A little color on the lips with distress crayons.

I hope you enjoyed my little peek and are inspired to use stamping as a start to a drawing or painting yourself.  It is the perfect jumping off point!

Until next time...get inky!!
