Today I bring you the first designer Alphabetically ...  

Amy Lassiter. 

This is her 2nd term on our team and we just adore the layers of love that go into all her projects. She's fond of paints, mists, stamps, fibers, flowers, paper, found bits and layering all of the above.

 Amy's says "I am a wife to my best friend from college, and the mother to three daughters. I live in a tiny town that sits on a lake, on the prairies of Kansas, USA. I am employed both as a church soloist (I am a classically trained soprano), and also a librarian.  Other than my amazing family, the thing I eat, sleep, and breathe is mixed media art and craft. I adore creating scrapbook layouts and canvases, tags, cards, and altered projects with an eclectic, free, and soulful vibe.  In the time when I’m not creating, I also enjoy photography, sewing, reading, thrifting, swimming and snorkling. Most days, I also spend at least a little time planning, journaling and dreaming, about relocating to Oahu, Hawaii; my favorite place on earth.

Tropical Dream Journal

Hello stampers! It's Amy here today, to share a journal I created to contain all of my hopes, dreams, and future plans. Because I hope beyond hope that my future means living in Hawaii, I created the cover of this book with tropical flair.

I started by taking an old paperback children's book and covering it with a thick layer of gesso. When it was dry, I put little drips of acrylic paints in tropical colors all along the book, and went over them with a brayer.

When the paint was dry, I stamped the background using the Map Background 4 1/2 x 4 3/4 using Momento Ink in Tuxedo Black . I then layered up some scrap papers (7 Dots Studio and vintage book pages) to create a palm tree trunk (using miracle tape), and a bit for layers along the side.

I colored on the Fancy Grass/Weeds stamp, using Copic markers in mistletoe and burnt sienna, stamped them onto a library card, and fussy cut them out. I then layered them onto the base of the "tree trunk." When that was complete, I stamped the Anchor 1 1/2x2 with the black Momento ink, and fussy cut it out as well.

I created the palm fronds, by cutting cheesecloth, and spraying it with Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Mint until it was saturated. When it was try, I arranged it to create the top of the tree, and added two brown buttons from my stash, as coconuts!
Adding the adventure awaits sentiment (stamped onto a library card), a few stamped Stars, and 7 Dots Studio alpha stickers spelling out "Dream"; as well as some UmWowStudio chipboard, completed my book cover.

This was a fun, quick, and exciting project to create, and it gives me a place to journal my dreams......which is an added bonus!

Up first today we have AMY LASSITER:

"I created this layout, after wanting to be able to use all the lines on the Scor-pal's board to make a hashed type of grid. I took a piece of 7 Dots paper, and scored it both horizontally and vertically, on the flip side, to create embossed lines. I didn't use each indicated line, but just chose randomly. After flipping over the paper, I ran a sponge lightly over the raised lines, using tuxedo black Momento ink, and then a blend of white and brown inks, for a very subtle gradient.

After inking the lines, I used the cracked background, and grunge1787 writing background stamps, as well as various paints and wet inks to create the background. After adding my photos, I embellished using UmWowStudio chipboard,flowers, bits and bobs. To create my flying pig, I used the butterfly wings and of course, the ever so cute pig peering stamps, to create the finishing touches on my "When Pigs Fly!" layout."

What does one do on a rainy day??? Play with dolls! Susan has been stamping and scoring up rooms for her neices' dolls. She's scored Kromecote cardstock and vellum hand doodled with Sakura Souffle® 3-D Opaque Ink pens, with this adorable bath tub stamp #5508... just to start!
