Big Ben postcard by Cathy N

I stated out by making the background with some lost shadow distress ink.

Then I stamped Big Ben and the dragon and colored them in with copic markers. I did add some glimmer pens to the dragon wings.

I had part of the moon from another card I made so I added that to the top of the postcard. I edged it all in brown ink. and the last thing I did was add some cloud die cuts.

Banksy wasn't here

 Hello everyone,

Welcome to the blog today ! I have a made a colourful postcard this time and I had t ouse some of the new Banksy inspired stamps.

and here's how I made it:

First I coloured my paper with Distress Oxide inks by dunking it in the ink and water pools on my craft sheet. I dried in between layers.

Next I added some random stamping using the same inks plus some grey and black Versafine Clair.

Next, I went around the edges with black acrylic paint. When that had dried I stamped the words directly on the card and the man on a piece of separate paper. I then cut him out.

And here is the finished card. I added some washi tape and placed the man in it to ground him. He looks like to be spray painting. I did add some more drips under the words.
I found the top to be too empty so I added a sentiment, using black ink on white card because I thought some more white would be good. And that finished it off.

I used the following stamps:

We all Eff Up sometimes...

Hi VLVS! fans! It's Cheetarah here today and I wanted to share a postcard with you I made inspired by a recent mishap. It does contain sensitive language but as you all know VLVS! does have a wonderful array of stamps to be very expressive in your artwork with. All the stamps I used are listed at the bottom of the post.

My base is a 6x4 inch heavy stock watercolor paper by Winsor and Newton. I used ranger archival ink to stamp the Fed up Vintage Lady with because that works well with the watercolors I am going to use. The ink stays put and doesn't contaminate my brushes. I did choose to stamp the image lighter so that I can add in details with a fine liner after coloring as you can see below.

I really love the process of watercolor, esp choosing the colors that play well together and create an effect of their own. Like the turquoise and violet blends in the background.

In the background I wanted to convey a certain contained aura around the Fed up Lady - like she is in her own thought bubble. Like we usually tend to do when things consume us... Also wanted to give you a view of how my desk looks when I am at work with watercolors. I sorta have an addiction when it comes to them, meaning I have several sets. Like stamps, they multiply.

After I finished coloring I stamped texture in the background with Memento inks in corresponding colors. Trimmed and rounded off the edges then lined it with Tuxedo black which I also used to stamp in the word Fuck. Poor girl, I hope she gets out of her thought loop soon and realize we all eff up sometimes... it's what we learn from it and continue on that matters most.

Stamps used:

Hope this inspired you to create and see you all next time. Also be sure to check out the new releases this month! Have a lovely day!

Freaky little thing

Hello everyone,

Welcome to my post where today I am sharing a postcard.

I used a piece of gel printed paper for the background and stamped it randomly.
I then stamped the balloon dog, reversed him and coloured him with Copic Markers. I added some highlights with a white paint pen.
The girl was stamped without her heart and coloured with pencils. I did this because I used a different ink to stamp her, to get a nice black image. I then cut both images out and adhered them to the card. I drew in the lead for the dog.
The last thing was the sentiment which I stamped and cut into pieces and adhered.

I used the following stamps:

Other materials:
a gelli printed piece of paper
Archival ink - Vermillion
Versafine - Clair - Nocturne
Coloured pencils
Copic markers

Destination unknown (2)

Hello everyone,

Mr. Mojo seems to have left me and because of that I decided to revisit an old idea.  For the second time this month I have used the same sentiment. I have made a simple postcard :

I cut a piece of white card stock to the size of a postcard 6"x4". I then adhered a piece of an old town map on it. With a brayer I added some blue paint and some green over the top. Next I stamped the blue X's with the same blue paint and the small X's with black Archival Ink. I used the same ink to go around the edges of the card and to stamp the men and the sentiment. I did use a Stamping tool to get a nice black impression.

I have used 4 stamps for this card :

Something wicked

Hello everyone,

welcome to my last post for August ! Can't believe it is almost September ...

Anyway for today I have a postcard to share and this is it:

and here's how I made it :

I made the background on water colour paper. I put the Oxides on my craft sheet, sprayed water over it and then dunked my card in it repeatedly, drying in between layers.

Next I tool a pallet knife and some white acrylic paint and scraped some over the card.

I liked the result. Next I added stamping; I used the same Distress Oxides and grey and black Archival inks.

This was the result..

Next I stamped my images onto some pattern paper which hasn't got any pattern on it, lol... but the colour of this paper matched the paint I used...

After I cut everything out I adhered it to my card and doodled around the edge and around the words.

Here's a detail...

and another..

I have used the following stamps:

Celebrate, lt's Mail Art Monday

Hello,
Welcome Back for another Mail Art Monday!

Today I wanted to share a birthday themed Postcard that I made for a friend.

Stamps Used:

To start, I used a piece of paper that I had already painted with some Dylusions paints, and a stencil.

Next, I stamped the set of birthday kids, and colored them with a variety of zig clean color markers.

After these were colored, I decided to add some more texture to the background with white Dylusions paints and a homemade stencil (I used a die cut to make it).

On a separate piece of paper I stamped my sentiment. I also decided the background needed just a touch more stamping...

Once I felt everything looked just like I had hoped I glued my sentiment on and glued my postcard to a sturdy piece of black card stock. I also hand drew some stitching around the edges.

Thank you for visiting, I hope you enjoy this Mail Art Monday inspiration.
