BANKSY ATC's by Fran Chalmers

Hello again everyone!

Today I have made some ATC's featuring Banksy stamps (which I love).

I had all the gelli plate backgrounds in my stash, so cut them to 3.5" x 2.5" size.

For the first ATC, I stamped the image and then cut out the zebra and the woman.  I stamped the image onto the card so I wouldn't have to cut out the stripes.

I added washi tape to add interest to the finished ATC.

For the second ATC, I edged the card with blue to frame it, then stamped the image in black.  I added washi tape to add interest.

With the third ATC, I edged it with purple and stamped the image onto the ATC, and then thick paper so the sign is left white.  I cut it out and added washi tape to finish it off.

I coloured in his Peace necklace with gold glitter pen to add a bit of interest too.

Hope you like them :) See you next time.

Stamps Used:

Banksy Zebra Washing 20297

Banksy Girl Watering TV Antennae 19603

Banksy Rat Protester 19489

Other Items Used:

Elements Inks in Blue Lagoon and Violet Chalk

Assorted Washi tape

MILLIONAIRE by Fran Chalmers

Hi everyone!

Today I have created this card for you with one of my favourite stamps.

I used a background that I had in my stash, which I made with acrylic paints on a gelli plate.

I added some background stamps, both in black and white ink, to add some texture

I also used a diamond stencil with a contrasting colour

I stamped the main image on thick paper, coloured and fussy cut

I mounted the stamp onto the sentiment stamp, which I had stamped on white card and edged with distress ink (I also coloured the word DARLING in purple pencil).  I went round the edges with Black Soot distress ink, and mounted onto a black card blank.  Lastly, I used glossy accent on her sunglasses.

Hope you like it! Here's what I used......

Stamps Used:

Other items used:
Black base card
Memento Ink in Black
Distress inks in Villainous Potion and Black Soot
Copic pens
Harlequin stencil
Polychromos pencils

Carpe Diem by Fran

Hi everyone!

Today I have made a postcard.

First of all I made a background with Distress inks, and used a Tim Holtz stencil to make sun rays.

I edged the postcard in Barn Door distress ink to add interest, and then went round the edge with a part of the heart stamp.

I stamped my sentiment and main image on the postcard (so I didn't have to cut out the tiny pedals of the bike!)

I stamped the main image on thick paper and coloured with Copic pens, then cut out (without the pedals!)

I used some washy tape to ground him and glued him on.  Then I added some background stamps to add a bit of interest and texture.

And that's it folks! I love this happy guy and I hope you do too.

See you next time :)

Mark Maker

 Hi Everyone,

I am back ! After 6 months without, I really missed the quirky, fun images of VivaLasVegaStamps! so I am really happy that I can contribute to the blog again ! For my first project I have made a postcard. Postcards are great because their size is not too intimidating and yet there is plenty of room to enjoy yourself.

I made the background with an UmWow Studio (Hexagon) stencil, acrylic paint and a gelli plate. I added stamping and heat embossing. The main image was coloured with watercolour markers.

I have used the following stamps:

Rest materials:
Amsterdam Acrylics
Gelli Arts Gelli plate 6 x 6
Versafine and Archival inks
Watercolour markers
White embossingpowder

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

"Love.Repeat" Art Journal Page | Sue Plumb

Hi everyone!
Sue Plumb here with my latest design team project for you. Today I have a mixed media art journal page to share that I created using a variety of stamps, inks, and assorted collage materials. This piece was inspired by a gorgeous art journal page shared last month by Jenn Engle. (You can see Jenn's page HERE) I really loved the balance between colour and white space on Jenn's page and wanted to create something similar - but with my own twist, of course.

I was working in my 9x6" Jane Davenport journal for this one (it has watercolour paper pages and takes wet media fairly well with no bleed through). I started by putting down multiple layers of Colour Blast Colour Artist Ink; drying between each one with a heat gun to get the "hard" water lines.

Once I had the colour down, I began adding some structure. I started with the Punchinella/Sequin Waste Border; which I stamped vertically using black Staz On ink.

Next, I used the Double Coffee Rings stamp with 'Mowed Lawn' Distress Oxide; stamping it several times over the top.

I then used the Cross Marks Background with black Staz On to add some marks around the edges of the colour.

Now it was time to add some texture to my page. I used small torn pieces of washi tape and some snippets of punchinella.

I also added a piece of paper doily, some plasterer's tape, and some frayed gauze - all layered in the central focal point of the page.

I then stamped out the focal image for my page using the Squiggle Heart stamp and Staz On ink onto some white cardstock and fussy cut around it. I used a shimmery watercolour paint to colour the heart before sticking it down onto the page.

To finish off, I stamped the sentiment Love.Repeat a few times and then splattered a little bit of blue ink around the edges.

I was really happy with how this page came out - thank you Jenn for the inspiration!

That's all from me today, thanks for stopping by. I hope I have inspired you to get inky too!

Good words are worth much and cost little

Good words are worth much and cost little - George Herbert.

I love using words in my ATC's so today I would like to share a series having fun with words and Viva Las VegaStamps!!  This first ATC is called "dress for rain" using the ever lovely lady swimsuit back (isn't she gorgeous???) and the  small cloud stamp
This next ATC is called "hot stuff" and I used the vampire or kisser stamp, isn't it hot??
and last but not least I had fun with this ATC called "high fashion" using the barrel lady, quarter of bullseye/target , row of stars, brick background and the solid star in circle (yes, 5 stamps on this little bitty ATC!!!)
and here is a close up to show the embossing I did on the brick background and quarter bullseye/target:
I also love how the gold stars just pop on that inky background! Thanks for stopping by and I hope you enjoyed my projects and I would love to hear which of these 3 ATC's was your favorite!

Brilliant Banksy!

I just love Banksy street art so it was a no brainer that when the Viva Las VegaStamps! Banksy stamps were released I just had to have them!!  Banksy is an English graffiti artist,  political activist, film director, and painter.  His street art usually contains dark humour and graffiti and is usually done using a stenciling technique. Banksy displays his art on publicly visible surfaces such as walls and self-built physical prop pieces.   I find that these stamps are perfect for art journaling and ATC's and it's fun to try to create a background that showcases the images.

I made 3 ATC's using the Banksy stamps, here is the first one

using Banksy shopping Jesus on cross, crime scene tape, french writing background and the bubblewrap texture stamp.

Here is the next ATC

and I tried to make a more grungy street style background, almost like concrete.  I used the Banksy swinging girl, one way small, radioactive and biohazard.

Last but not least I had a lot of fun with this one
I used eat the rich, Banksy winged mohawk guy, apocalypse and pin through paper.

I hope you enjoyed my trio of Banksy ATC's and thanks for stopping by!
