birds on a wire

Hi, Hermine here with an step-by-step ATC I named birds on a wire.

overall photo

step 1: Take a white card which a slightly smaller then an ATC. Stamp with Stazon Black the birds on a wire 18098 and the butterfly 14159 twice. Stamp with Distrees Frayed Burlap torn paper 19341

step 2: Drag with your inkpad direct-to paper the upper half with Distress Peacock feathers and blend with a waterbrush.

step 3: Dry brush with gesso, please keep it as thin as possible.

step 4:  Stamp the birds on a wire with Stazon black, but slightly lower then the first time. Stamp with Stazon the French background writing19297 on top of this (you don't have to mask anything).
And stamp with Stazon Black Whimsical boy in hat 19359 on a piece of vellum and cut out in shape.

step 5: Glue the Whimsical boy in hat 19359 on the right hand side. If you cover the whole piece of vellum you won't see the glue and it dries invisible. Take a waterbrush and make some shades with Distress Frayed Burlap. Scriblle around the boy with a micron pen.

This way you can create lots of layers without making the ATC chunky and it will fit an ATC sleeve perfectly. Hope this will inspire you.

Warmly Hermine

Little House of Madness

Poe Shrine Full
Hello, it's Amy here today to share my first ever attempt at an ATC. I decided to also create a shrine for my ATC, so Mr. Edgar Allan Poe has a little house for his
brilliantly mad mind.
 Poe ATC
To create the look I was after with my ATC, I started with one standard size ATC card, and after painting it with iridescent green paint, I stamped it, using the cursive writing background stamp in black ink. Next, I used a 1.5" smaller piece of cardstock, and painted it with an aqua mist. When that was dry, I stamped randomly with the nesting gears and coffee ring stain stamps, using brown and black inks. I stamped the Poe stamp onto another piece of paper, and then sponged black ink around his face. When that had dried, I hand doodled circles around the face as well, using a template, cut them out, and mounted it using foam tape. Adding some metal embellishments gave it steampunk/time passing flair.

When creating my ATC shrine, (from Retro Cafe Art) I also stamped over the painted and papered outside, using the cursive writing stamp here as well.

I am super excited about my first ATC, and the little house it has to reside in. I've already been so inspired by the creations of the design team, I cannot wait to create another very soon! Keep an eye out for more fabulous ATC sized projects from the design team as we continue to celebrate our ATC bash!

Dream | Encourage | Possibility with GDT JINGLE!

Hey Folks! First of all, welcome to the FIFTH day of our ATC Bash!! Have you been leaving comments on all the ATCs?? We may or may not be grabbing random comments to win some rubber!!

Today is also really cool, because I get to introduce our MARCH Guest Designer... JENNIFER INGLE! She's frequently referred to as Jingle, and is super talented.

Let's jump right into the beautiful ATC she's made for us today. We were super excited when she agreed to participate in our giant ATC Bash. Don't fret though, stay tuned for her next post to learn a little bit more about her.

Jennifer says:
I used Tim Holtz Distress inks and word stickers from his Ideo-ology line on watercolor paper. The stamps are both Viva Las VegaStamps!. To create the background, I stamped and embossed the Lacy Lines/Round image several times with clear powder. I then inked in three colors, blending as I went and sprayed the entire card with water to create a watercolor look. Finally, I stamped the Row of Stars stamp in black ink and adhered the words, inking the corners just a bit.
