Oh, let me count the days!

Happy Wednesday everyone! It's nearly the end of July and for my family that means a fast dash to the end of the year! We start school in less than a month. We have classes, concerts, games, and carnivals. Then Halloween then Thanksgiving and then the winter holidays. whoosh! Where did the end of the year go! I think it goes in warp speed but my kids are forever asking "when is...".
I've seen these count down calendars all over the net and decided this would be PERFECT for the "when is" faction in my house...They're super easy to make and with the vast array of Viva Las Vegastamps! you can keep up with every season!!

The Process

For this project you will need:
A frame with glass of your choosing [mine is 4×6"]
a variety of inks including versamark for the glass
Cardstock/papers
>

Remove glass from frame and clean with moist wipe.
Stamp images with versamark to "frame" the edges.
Cover with Embossing Powder--clean up powder along
images with a soft brush to remove powder from where
you don't want it.
Heat thoroughly to insure all the EP melts.
WARNING GLASS GETS HOT.
Give the melted EP about a minute to set...then dust with
Terri Sproul Mixers--I used Bronze but you could use any.

Dust off excess and return to pot. Wipe the glass again
with a moist towel to remove un-attached powder. I zapped
the embossed images with a heat tool one more time to
permanently set the EP with Mixers.

And now for a count down

Now return the glass to the frame. You are ready to make count down pages! You can count down to ANYTHING. I made a count down to Santa's arrival and one to the first day of school. Change the stamps and papers/backgrounds to match your countdown. Use a dry erase marker to write on the glass as your number changes.

Santa's background was made with the Snow background
stamped with versamark and dusted with silver and aquamarine
mixers. He was stamped with Archival ink, accented with
craypas, The Santa's Coming sentiment was stamped with
red and a green 2nd generation image of the oval doily was used
as a frame. The count down takes place below the sentiment.
For the beginning of school a primary background was made with Distress inks and
then the pens were stamped with blue, the oval doily in red, and School in...__days
was hand-lettered. The count down is written in the "hole" created in the oval.
Thank you for looking! I hope you enjoyed my projects as I try to quiet the "when is" faction in my life! ~leslierahye

Design Team Blog Hop

Viva Las Vegastamps! is so excited to be doing this blog hop with Blog Candy. You will be hopping over to each of the Design team blogs and to be entered to have a chance to win the blog candy you MUST
1) become/or already be a follower of each blog (I will be checking)
2) leave a comment on each Design Team blog including this Blog.
It's that easy!
What is the Blog Candy? OH, you are going to love this one... Each Viva Las Vegastamps! team member got this for the first month we were on the team and we all were so excited when we got it. So we are sharing our excitement with you.
"Pound O' Rubber"
This is a $25 value and you will love it.

Here is a project I (Terri Sproul) made using one of the image I got with my Pound O' Rubber. Hope you like...

Supplies:
Stamps: 2 sizes of the 5 Petal Flower
Greeting From Las Vegas!
Swirl Stamp
Ultra High Gloss Clear Embossing Powder
Miracle Tape
Crystal Lacquer - Clear, Pink and Yellow
Eyelet
Silk flower
Printed pattern paper
Ribbon
Cardstock: Cream, Pink, Dark Brown,
Inks: Pink, Brown, Black, Clear Embossing Ink
Embossing Gun

Directions:

1) On a pink cardstock I stamped the swirl stamp using my brown Ink pad - I stamped each image 3 times before I re-inked... aged all the edges with Brown Chalk ink
2) Stamped "Greeting from Las Vegas" onto cream cardstock using Black Ink. I colored in the image with my colored pencil, BUT I colored the Flamingo in with my Pink and Yellow Crystal Lacquer. I matted this image onto Pattern paper when onto Dark Brown Cardstock.
3) Stamped two of the 4 - 5 petal flower stamp onto white cardstock. Cut them out. I then stamped the swirl stamp onto the flower with clear embossing ink and Ultra High Gloss Clear Embossing Powder. I did a resist technique here (when you go to my blog, there will be a video on how to do this...) After I heat set my embossing powder, I added Pink dye ink over the whole image. The embossing powder will resist the ink I added over the flower. I aged the edges of my flower with brown chalk ink.
4) Continuing on my flowers - I added a Pink Silk flower to the center and then added an eyelet. I filled the center of the eyelet with Yellow Crystal Lacquer. Set aside to dry..
5) Now I just started to put my card together - using my Miracle tape - I have all the sizes of tape and would suggest the same for all...

Here is a list of our hop - just in case you get lost along the way, you can stop by here and find yourself.

Here is a Christmas Card I just made for my Festive Friday blog Hop I have on my blog on the 2nd and 4th Friday of each month. Check us out.

Supplies:
Stamps: "Scrolled circle Tree #12702" and "Streampunk Background #16468" and "Happiness and Tranquility This Holiday Season" #2834
Ink: Cherry Red Dye Ink and Green Dye Ink
Cardbase
Green Glossy Paper
White Cardstock
Gears - Viva Las Vegastamps!
Post it note
Miracle Tape

Directions:
1) Stamp tree image onto Post-it Note or any thin white paper (like typing paper) and White Cardstock. Cut out tree image on Post-it note. I stamped tree image using Green Dye ink onto my white cardstock.
2) Place Post-it note image over Image on White cardstock - Post it note will act as a mask to protect the Image on White Cardstock.
3) Ink up "Steampunk Background" stamp with "Cherry Red" dye ink and stamp over the Tree Image. Stamp until your background is covered. Then remove your Post-it note tree image and see how it protected the image on the white cardstock - cool!
4) Adhere Glossy Green Cardstock to cardbase using Miracle tape and then add Stamp image to the center of Cardbase - again using my Miracle Tape.
5) Start adding Viva Las Vegastamps! Gears to Tree Image... see sample.

Thanks for stopping by today and remember to stop by again as we have a new project on this Blog from our Design Team on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday!

Tip Toe Thru The Tulips

Hello again everyone! Jennifer here! It's good to be back posting for the VLVS DT! I have several things to touch on today! First...what do you think of my card above?

I was thinking SPRING but wanted something more than just spring...I thought this was kind of cute...I was diggin' the yellows and oranges! The ducky has so much personality! He can be found HERE over at the online store. The stamp is called Sneakered Duck and it's a 2X4.

There is still time to check out the BLOG CANDY we have going on over at Viva Las Vegastamps!

Read about the VLVS Blog Candy HERE. BUT HURRY!!!!! We NEED 125 followers by April 30th!

I must remind you about one of the BEST products Viva Las Vegastamps has right now! It's taking the crafting world by storm!

It's called Miracle Tape and I know I mentioned this 2 weeks ago both HERE and ON MY BLOG but I cannot say enough good things about this product! My most favorite part is that it is so durable and PERFECT for those heavy-duty projects! I LOVE using it on ribbon and heavier cards with many layers of paper and embellies!

A few more things about this project...I wanted to make mention that the textured yellow paper that is just underneath the digi stamp clip is actually the backing of a random embellishment pack. I have been reusing those as often as possible. I LOVE that most of the companies are making the backing of the packaging interesting, patterned, and/or textured now! I used Crayola paint pens and markers, zig zags, Martha Stewart flower stickers, Bazzill Paper/Cardstock, DCVW Paper, Stickles, and Sticko Vellum Stickers.

AND...I am excited to report that I'm stocked about the upcoming projects and products for May! Be sure to swing by often!

Visit My Blissful Place Blog, too, when you have time! I would LOVE to see you there! Have a great weekend!
