Cheers!

Hi there, today I made a trio of pocket cards using the fabulous Viva Las VegaStamps! stamps and I thought the theme this time would be alcoholic beverages.  I myself love a great red wine followed by some Coors Light. :)

One of the great thing about doing pocket scrapbooking, or pocket pages or Project Life, whatever you want to call it, is that the little 3 x 4 cards come already embellished so it makes them easy to use.  I had this little book of pocket cards
so I picked out 3 that I wanted to work with
and then I picked out 3 lovely stamps (aren't they gorgeous?)
and then I colored them in with watercolor pencils and arranged them onto the cards
The first card is called "leftover wine" using the large lightbulb and the distressed lady
and this one is called "say them anyway" using the pinup in stockings
and the last one is called "another glass of wine" using the pin up girl on phone
and here is my double pocket spread using all 3 of the cards
I love being able to customize my own pocket cards depending on what I'm scrapping and I found that these sassy sayings about wine gave it the humour I was wanting.  I hope you enjoyed my project and I would love to know which card was your fave!

Homemade Project Life

I bought the W R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 punch from Winners for like $16.99 and thought I would give it another try.  The last time I couldn't figure out how to open the darn thing so I returned it, plus I had bought it from my local scrap store for $33 so this time the price was right.
I got the one with the square corners and that way I could either leave them square or round them myself with my paper rounder.

I wanted to do a page Project Life style using papers I cut with the new punch as well as Viva Las VegaStamps!.  How did I like using the punch you ask? It was pretty easy once I figured out how to open it but you do need to use a little force and it got tiring on the hands.  You wouldn't want to make a day of this that's for sure!

NOTE: you have to push down at the exact same time as unlocking this unit. I googled everywhere for this information and had to figure it out myself.  They should indicate this in the directions but they don't.

I think this will help me use up more of my 12 x 12 papers and it will also be handy for cutting down any 4 x 6 photos.  Here are the papers I cut using a variety of ones from my massive, guilt inducing stash:
I liked how these all went together so I placed some of them onto my pocket page
Then I got the pictures I wanted to use and placed them onto the page as well and placed a few more things on.
Then I started adding some embellishments
Here is my finished page using the couple kissing, the man and woman symbol , the tag and the large arrow heart.
and here is the project without the watermark as it's cutting off the bottom of the page
and a couple close ups

I hope you enjoyed my project and until next time!

It's all about me

Hi everyone, Glenda here with a pocket page layout all about me.  I thought it would be fun to do a layout on myself and I had alot of fun using 4 different VLVS stamps to make this page.  Forgive the glare on some of the pockets as it's a bugger trying to photograph these things!!! *(#&)$#&
Alot of the stamps are just the right size for either ATC's or for the pocket cards.
I love this Lady hair blowing stamp so I stamped her onto white cardstock and then cut her out
and I used black marker to make her darker as well as Sakura Gelly rolls to color in the little hearts on the camera.  Here are few more close ups

and here are the fabulous stamps I used:

The Lady hair blowing
the Distraught lady
and last but not least the Line of chevrons
I hope you enjoyed seeing how I used these stamps and until next time!

More project life my way and Viva Las VegaStamps!

I'm still loving doing project life my way and this page is a heartfelt tribute to my Sammy who we had to say goodbye to in April of this year.  I  still miss him and think of him EVERY DAY and I love how this page turned out.  He was my little Poppa.
I love how I as able to fit so many pictures on this page yet it's not too crowded.  Here are the stamps I used for this page
and the star pin
here are a few close ups

I hope you enjoyed seeing my project and thanks for stopping by!

Project Life my way and Viva Las VegaStamps!

I have been thinking about starting project life for some time now but never thought I wanted to stop doing my regular scrapbooking.  What would I do with all my supplies? Would I like it? Was it creative enough? I had alot of questions and then in May I decided to bite the bullet and jump right in and give it a try.

Now I'm not talking about doing the actual "Project Life" with their supplies and everything.  I'm not even going to do mine by the week like most people are doing.  I'm doing project life my way, which I think is going to work good for me!  I may even continue doing regular scrapping plus do some project life pages, I'm a rebel like that.

Here is what I did:

1.  I went out and bought some pocket pages (the ones I got were by We R Memory Keepers) and I also got the We R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 paper punch so I could start using my own papers because I have a ridiculously large stash of papers, like it's obscene... and I also got a few pages by Kaiser Craft that had some awesome 3 x 4 cards on it as well as some sticker packs.  I already use 3 ring binders so I didn't have to purchase a new one.
The first thing that sucked was that the We R Memory Keepers 3 x 4 punch would not unlock.  Yep, the first step is to unlock the damn thing which it would not do. I took it back to the store the next day and the other two ladies who worked at the store could not unlock it either.  They also pulled the other 3 off the shelf and tried unlocking them and nope, it was a no go.  So I got my money back and decided from here on in, until they make an easier punch, I will just cut them myself and if I want rounded corners I have a super easy mini corner rounder.  I would love to know if anyone else has this punch and how it's working for them because I really, really wanted it to work!!

2.  I also got a plastic storage tub from Walmart so that I could fill it up with precut cards, making my life easier.  The tub I got fits the little 3 x 4 cards on the one side and the larger 4 x 6 cards on the other so I was quite happy with this!  It also came with a lid so if you are worried about dust you can seal it up.
After losing hours of my life online searching Pinterest and other sites for project life ideas and tips I was now ready to make my title page!!

The first thing I did was to place my plastic pocket page on my scrap table and stare at it.  Then I decided what I would do first is to find the cards I wanted to use and then add my pictures to it.  The next step was to place my stamps and any embellishments I wanted to use on the cards so I could see how it would look before making anything permanent.
Once I was happy with how things looked I then stamped and glued and here is my finished title page for project life my way!

Here are some closeups
I used a white sharpie to color in the hexagon squares!
I used 6 fabulous stamps for this page and they were the set of two hands pointing (I used only the one hand),

the row of stars

and last but not least the victorian flourish.
I hope you enjoyed seeing my title page and I am really looking forward doing more of this project life style scrapping!!

Project Life Cards

We have been sharing ATCs here on the Viva Las VegaStamps blog, but I am more of a Project Life gal, so I chose to make a set of 3x4 cards for a Project Life page. I am using a Becky Higgins Project Life sleeve, but if you like, you can choose other brands and style of pocket pages that are available from many other manufacturers.

I wanted to do a black and white series, so I used five different stamps and Versafine Onyx ink. All of the stamps I used are available at Viva Las VegaStamps.

After I got them all stamped, I let them dry overnight. There is nothing worse than sliding wet ink into these sleeves — it can ruin a whole project by smearing inside your pockets.

I used pictures from Valentine's week. I liked the red accents against the black and white. I also added a bow I cut from a die set on the outside of my sleeve. I love the added dimension even in a flat canvas like the pocket pages.

So there you have it! This was my take on ATC week, and a big thanks to Dee Dee for letting me go outside of the box on this. I had a lot of fun making these.

This is also my last post for Viva Las VegaStamps. My guest term is over, and I have loved every project I made here these last three months.

Thanks to Viva Las VegaStamps for having me!
