She Was a Dreamer Art Journal Page

Hello all you lovely stampers out there. Shanna here with a little art journal inspiration to share with you today!

First I started with stamping out some Grunge Numbers 19452 - Grunge 119453 - Grunge 219456 - Grunge 5, and 19461 - Grunge 0. Then I cut the numbers out.

I created a background with Distress Paints, then splashed water on the page, and then dabbed the paint off.

I used a stencil with some black acrylic paint.

I then did some stamping with these following stamps 19015 - Dictionary Page
19643 - Sawtooth Stitching Lines19565 - Measuring Tape Section with black ink and then the 19569 - Mesh Texture with some chalk ink.

Here is a better look at the chalk ink.

Then I glued the 2015 down and added some splatter of gesso, stamped the heart on the white spot I made for the stamp.

I used some black cardstock to emboss 19635 - She Was a Dreamer with white embossing powder.

Here are more close ups of the page!

I so love the doing bright art journal pages and hope to have inspired you today!

Dangerous Halloween Treat Box

Hi my dear Viva Las VegaStamps! Friends.

Three Days left until Halloween and I'd like to share a spooky treat box today. It's perfect for some goodies and it can be used as a little lantern where you add a LED light.
The box is cut with the Silhouette Cameo. I used kraft cardstock and covered it with gesso. I used the Gelatos on top together with the Tim Holtz Shatter stencil.

I removed the Gelatos color through the stencil using a wet baby wipe.

I added a little tag on which I stamped the "Danger Skeleton" and the "Row of Jack-O-Lanterns Silhouette". The edges are distressed with Distress Ink black soot. I used the Jack-O-Lanterns on the front of the bag, too.

I added the "Danger Skeleton" also to the vellum on the backside.

I stamped the "Frightful Fun and Folly", the "Halloween Tree Silhouette" and the "Row of Jack-O-Lanterns Silhouette" on the sides of the gift bag.

Enjoy the Journey Book Pendant

I have many friends that like to Art Journal and many friends that love to make books. I think their love for these techniques is rubbing off on me. I wanted to use some scrap mixed media paper I created in a recent class as my book inserts, but I didn't have a lot of it,so I decided to go small and make a book I could carry around on my neck!

I cut out bit's of the paper I had created to a desired size.To each panel,I added a stamped image,I glued on a word cut out( http://www.retrocafeart.com ),I splattered some white paint and gold spray and added a newspaper to the back of each panel.

I also cut out a piece of brass for the front and back of the book.Cleaned up the edges, drilled holes, and applies a faux etched image using one of the stamps.

The book panels felt like they missing something,so I added a layer of Clear Cast Resin (http://www.moldputty.com) each panel as well as the brass cover of the book. I then sprinkled on some star glitter and let the resin cure 24hrs.

I then attached all the panels and front and back of the book with wire.I added additional embellishments and then strung the pendant on some suede cording!

Each panel is unique and fun!

You color my world : stamping on acrylic board tutorial

Hello my dear crafty friends and welcome to my September tutorial made for VLVS blog.
This time I decided to be totally colorful and to use a lot of alcohol inks over my piece as they look gorgeous over acrylicfragments  and this altered deco is all  done from tons of acrylic fragments.
But first lets see the stamping part of it.
So here we go!
Step by step directions:
1. Take your Whimsical Jester stamp and stamp over the large (4*4'' ) acrylic fragment with black StazOn ink. Also this ink should be permanent over acrylic it takes some time  to dry, so I added a few blows of my heat gun.

2.Now add some butterflies using Butterfly Specimens stamp in the very same way. As you can see we have a perfect space for this butterflies strip.

3. Now for the fun part: add a mix of your favorite alcohol inks on the BACK of your stamped piece.

4. Grab some smaller acrylic fragment and arrange them over the stamped piece using a few drops of Glossy Accents. You glue over the stamped surface and not over the colored one.Let the glaze dry for a few minutes.

5. Pick another acrylic piece and stamp this gorgeous " YOU COLOR MY WORLD" VLVS sentiment over it with white pigmented ink and white powder heat embossing.
Glue the sentiment as shown over the main piece. Add a few pearls over the piece. You stamped art deco is done! Enjoy!

And this is how it looks  on a stand!

Another possible way to display this art piece hanging on the wall:

Autumn

Hello everyone,

Every month I take part in an ATC Swap here in Holland. This month's theme is 'mushroom'.

So for my DT post today I captured the process. So sit back, have a nice cup of coffee of tea and see how these ATC's came about.

As always, here is a photo of the finished product to start with :

Aren't they cute !

So, here's how I started. First I made some masks, two of the mushroom and one of the gnome. (There will be a list of all stamps I used at the bottom of this post).

I stamped the mushroom and then put the mask on, so I can stamp the mushroom again and it will look like it is behind this one. All stamping has been done with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink as I planned on using Copic Markers to colour everything..

Like so. I continued doing that until.....

I had 4 mushrooms. I added another one later in the right hand bottom corner.

Next I masked two mushrooms and stamped the gnome. It now looks as if he is standing behind the mushrooms...

Here you can see what that looks like.

I did three ATC cards like that. Here you can see I added another mushroom in the bottom right corner of each card.

I then masked everything off (not very well I noticed later...) and coloured the sky. I used Distress Ink in Broken China and Mermaid Lagoon and a blending tool for this.

This is how that looks. I then decided I wanted something in the top right corner.

I used this lovely naked woman's 'hair' for this. Doesn't that look cool... I also stamped the background a little bit.

Here you can see how that looks. You can also see that in the right hand card that I didn't mask it off very well as there are differences in colour. I will fix that later with a Copic Marker.

Now, it was time to start colouring... I used a whole bunch of Copic Markers but you could easily used pencils or waterbased markers. If you wanted to used watercolours you should used watercolour card stock and Archival Ink.

Here is one that is finished. I did try and make the background look a little better later as I wasn't quite happy with how that came out. I coloured all three this way.

Lastly I used my old typewriter to type 'Autumn' three times. I cut the words in strips and glued one on each card. I doodled around the words with a black fine tipped pen.

And here they are, all finished. I did manage to make the background look a little better by using a Copic Marker that was darker than the Distress Ink I used and blending that out.

Now I can only hope that my trade partners in this ATC Swap will like their ATC's.

I used the follwowing stamps:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
